This is a real flight envelope for F-14A which we have used to model the MSFS flight envelope for F-14A:
To put you in perspective, at Sea level at Military Trust, F-14 avg max speed is 0.85 - 0.95 Mach, depending Gross Weight, while in max AB is about 1.05 - 1.2 Mach.
Now here, you have the real FE for the FA-18:
While at S.L. they could perform similarly at Mil thrust with 43000lb GW for FA-18 and 53000lb GW for F-14A, at Full AB not only the F-14A is the fastest, but it outperforms the FA-18 in the entire Flight Envelope. How accurate the FA-18 is in MSFS will depend on how much effort Asobo has put into it (I haven’t personally tested it). You also have to take into account acceleration times from 0 to mach. An F-14A accelerates considerably slower compared to the F-14B, but at top speed, the F-14B does not outperform the A by much.
I have not compared the acceleration times between an F-18 and an F-14 either, so I could not tell you what would win in that race (this also depends on the Gross Weight of each one, keep in mind that the FA-18 also it is lighter even if its engine has less trust).
