DC6 engine two keeps dying at startup?

Hi all,

I’m out of ideas and don’t know what to do anymore to get this engine 2 running again.
It worked before. Had 10 something flights with it without having issues.

This is the procedure I always do from the cold and dark state once loaded on the apron.

1st: before start checklist by AFE
2nd: start engine 3
3rd: mixture eng 4 to auto rich
Eng selector to eng 4
Ignition eng 4 to both
Boost pump to low
Start engine
By the count of 9 blades I select boost and prime.
4th: rinse and repeat for engine 2 and 1

Now this always seems to work, like I said there were no issues.
Until last week. My engine 2 keeps dying.

I repaired every engine.

  • even then no luck
    I clicked the ready to taxi preset button.
  • again no luck
    I switched the aircraft model from 6B to 6A.
  • you guessed already…. No luck.

Today I tried it again and still engine two won’t fire up.

Does anyone recalls this and what did you do to solve this?

I’ve had this but only because I hadn’t repaired/maintenance on the engines for a while. Did that and was fine afterwards. (Early on when I didn’t know better)

When it happens for you, does pressing CTRL+E fire them all up?

I’d also double-check the engine monitor on the tablet when you do so.

I had something very similar, in the end changing the tail number in the options reset it for me. I’ll see if I can find the link.
