Dear Jorg, We would like to receive honest information when we can play, when there will be adequate server capacity

…… and when we can flight without CTDs. CTD when clicking on livery. CTD when back to menu. CTD when choosing plane. CTD when finishing flight. CTD CTD CTD CTD CTD. We are tired.

Had big issues in the UK accessing the sim from launch. That now seems to have been resolved. I can get in, finish flights, access career mode etc. quite consistently with rapid load times. Still plagued by in-sim issues however. Missing sounds, muddy textures, cockpit instruments and interiors popping in and out when changing from interior to exterior views, on top of the dreadful control binding problems on Xbox and the totally broken mouse freelook!

Got to be honest. I’m happier with it than I was 2 days ago, but its far from an acceptable state considering the price tag.

As for daily honest updates, it wont happen, simply because I dont believe at this stage that the dev team know which way to turn, or what to attempt to fix first. I think fixing server capacity is the easy bit. Fixing bugs and problems of this magnitude on an always online platform, with no way, as I see it, to test at scale without pushing it out there will be much more problematic I would imagine.

The banner at the top of the forums proclaiming ‘Good News’ just needs to go. At this point its just adding insult to injury. If its honesty we’re after then just replace it with a picture of Jorg giving us the middle finger?

Good morning from Europe everyone. On day 5 I can say that I still have:

  • Textures are blurry, everything is out of focus, you can see that it doesn’t load
  • Photogeometry is very bad, unenjoyable, everything is melted
  • Instruments are missing from the cockpit several times
  • Career mode also fails to load several times

And what about the impossibility of installing the game entirely on another disc, including for streamed data? It’s a shame for all those who have a dedicated disk other than the C reserved for Windows.

This is what it looks like for me and I’ve tried on both Windows 10 & 11 and still get the same issue.

Good morning too, the textures for me are good to excellent, my problems and critics goes to the interface and the often CTD`s when go back from flight to menu. Its horror to start the sim 2-3 times within 1 hour.

Its not the internet connection, its the “big and excellent” server. So Asobo, please give us a alternative to stop streaming.

Another flight test in the morning before going to work. I didn’t notice any change. Still having server issues.

  • Blurry ground textures, blurry taxiway, runway. Everything is blurry
  • Photo geometry is blurry, melted
  • Airplane loading is not correct either

Unfortunately it’s still bad, can’t enjoy it. It’s been 6 days and still can’t play. I would like to get some honest information today. That’s all they’re saying.

The problem here is they release just before the holidays because of profit, so everyone buys it.

And then they proceed with closing business for the holidays so they can’t provide support to their new customers. So the customers have to wait until 2025 for everything to work properly.

I’m still having issues, nothing seems to have changed changed. I reckon that it got better, but I still see - and experience - the same server connection issues than day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 …

Just curious about your setup. I have been running MSFS 2024 since day 2. My setup is on Steam. I have watched Youtube videos where others have the MSStore setup running. I am running on West Coast servers. I don’t know if certain server locations are more functional or not. It would be nice to know what the dev team knows.

I fully understand your frustration. Personally, I feel this release should be called a BETA version. ASORBO has made a grave mistake in setting everyone’s expectations to thinking that they were delivering a finished General Availability (GA) product.

The scenery in 2024 is really flawed. 3D objects like trees, buildings, rocks, and rocks are improved, but I am seeing fall colors on tree where I leave in Texas and we don’t have trees that change colors in the Fall. Most of the roads in my area appear as dirt/grave and not as asphalt. So, when you do get into the sim, the list of flaws are endless, so be prepared.

Here in Europe, working hours are almost over. I would have expected some kind of answer, a statement, information. Nothing. Amazingly rude.

Absolutely annoying and a very bad practice. I understand that MS is based 9 hours beyond Central European time, but Asobo is in France…

I had the hopes that today, now that weekend is over and people are at work, the servers would run better but I have the same issues as I have been having since launch and I can’t start a freeflight or career mission. Loading times are well over 20 minutes and at some point I just shut the PC down not to waste even more energy.

If there will be no announcement until tomorrow morning (CET) I will really lose all hope :frowning:

It would be nice to have some kind of dev blog or some communication directly from developers apart from the dev streams. A lot of companies do this but this is not the Microsoft/Asobo way unfortunately. They don’t even post on the forums directly.

(Europe) Today, I still have constant CTD-s on loading screen, and when I manage to enter menu and select Fly now in free flight, it gets stuck in loading…
I managed to get to flight 5-6 times, in last 24 hours, flight just cant load if the app loads at all.
And no word from MS/Asobo. Just Jorgs message that everything is ok now…

Same for me. It is just disrespectful via the paying customers. Sad to see such a bad behavior.
I guess we are just not important anymore since we already paid.
Just continue with sales and everything is fine. There will be enough remaining customers to declare this a success. :frowning:

i think you may be on to something, i have my doubts too
i load a new flight and it downloads everything >> check
i exit the flight, reload exactly the same flight, and it sure downloads a lot again… i dont know if its exactly the same but it sure is a lot
it should be nothing, or at least very little
i think its caching the scenery but not the aircraft

You could test this by using a 3rd party aircraft. It will be stored in the community folder and not streamed.
I have done this the few time I was able to start a flight. The download volume stays the same. This would indicate the scenery is downloading again.
