Decent regional jet suggestions?

I’ve been looking about for adding a rear engine T-tail regional jet (I.e. MD-80 or CRJ type look), but it seems like there isn’t a lot of consistency out there. One may be poorly made, another may have been good at first but no longer developed and now lacking, some just seem outrageously expensive, etc, and I haven’t been able to nail down anything specific that really strikes my interest.

So I ask the community at large for what current options are there that are worth considering? I’m not looking specifically for study level, and would actually prefer something a little on the easier end to fly so I can just enjoy it without a super steep learning curve.

I just spent the last 200 hours flying the CRJ-900 for a VA.

Sure it has it’s quirks, but it’s a solid plane once you get the hang of it.

Moving onto the A320 now.

The CRJ is flyable ( I fly the 900 every now and then ) but updates are still all promises rather than progress and it still has some big issues - some you can carefully work around but others there’s nothing you can do. The only other decent regional jet I know of is the 146, which doesn’t have rear engines, obviously.

The -146 is the best regional jet currently available. CRJ in my opinion is good and better than the negativity it often receives. The MD-80 is bigger than a proper regional jet but is a fantastic simulation, especially if you replace the sounds with the FTSim pack.

The Bae 146 is a great regional jet, and beautifully rendered by Just Flight. If you need a more automated version, with a more conventional autopilot and autothrottle then the forthcoming Avro RJ version will be out soon hopefully. You won’t regret buying it, and you can then practice your landings at London City Airport:

I believe the aircraft was undamaged.

I’m not interested in the 146. Nothing against how it has been modeled, I’m just wanting a specific look.

You may want to hang on for the JF Fokker 28/70 ( I forget which one’s coming first ) - that should tick all your boxes.

Thanks. I just looked those up (and the F100 also announced), and it’ll be something to keep my eye on.

The Leonardo Maddog is a nice flyer, once you get used to its quirks. (You really have to fly that bird; it won’t fly itself. Well, actually it WILL fly itself, but probably not how/where you want it to fly…) But I wouldn’t really call it a regional jet - the MD-82 that Leonardo models had a range of about 2000nm and could carry 150+ passengers. That’s closer to a 737 classic (e.g. a -300) than to, say, an E-Jet.

As far as true regional jets go with your desired characteristics, right now it’s the CRJ or nothing, I think (since the 146 is right out). At least until the Fokkers come out. I like the CRJ, although it’s consistently been a beeyotch to land for me. (It requires a deft touch on the throttle to keep your speed up and still be descending at the proper rate on an ILS approach.)

I love the ATR series, big regional propellers!
I am on xbox serie X and we don’t have many options.

I wanted to try the c160 but has the fms seems very special i don’t know if it worth spending time on it ? i mean learning it wont help me for other planes i guess, i don’t if it’s a good way of thinking…

There are some others small regionals planes like the islander, blackbox short but i need to get more info about them first.

I wish we had more regional planes, specially on xbox.

I use the e175 on Xbox and I like it. But yes, there’s limited options. Hoping crj comes over one day.

Those planes look cool but the ones with have on xbox (virtual sim cool) have bad reviews on the marketplace apparently.
