Default Cessna 152. Engine shuts down when 1.5 gallon left

Hello!
Recently I wanted to see how the aircraft behaves when it is out of fuel. So, I set 2 gallons of fuel and started a flight (airbourne). For some reason engine shuts down when 1.5 gallons left in the tanks.
What’s even more interesting is setting up 1 gallon of fuel. The aircraft simply shuts down right away.

Seems weird to me. Is it a bug?

Nope, not a bug. Airplanes generally have ‘unusable fuel’, it’s in the tank, but can’t get to the fuel pump / air gets mixed in, stalling the engine.

Just like cars do. Bottom of tank can be either inaccessible or just full of crap.

Exactly correct, to the ounce. A 152 has 26 gallons total, 24.5 usable. It should run out with exactly 1.5 gallons left in the tanks.
