Some times ago I bought a Long-EZ plane. This plane is great and I very like it. More than a week ago, the author released a new version, but until now the new version is not available in the Marketplace. All other stores have a new version, while Marketplace still has the old version. It should not be like that. I understand that the new version has to go through the checking process, but it takes an awful long time. Next time, I will give my money to another store than wait impatiently for a new version when others already have that version.
I have a plan to buy another plane and I know it exists in other stores and if the Marketplace works like this I will buy somewhere else. Thank you for the advice and I advise others to do the same. Shame.
Yep, people have been saying the same about Orbx scenery. They need to update the Marketplace more quickly if they want to maximise revenue which I want them to do so as to better support the Sim. Suggest we make Zendesk reports. Cheers.
MS do some quality and integrity checking with products through the Marketplace.
I know Gaya has some updates to their airports which have not made it through the MS/Asobo QA team yet.
Not sure what exactally the checks entail.
I like the concept that there ought to be some QA from the devs, but have two market places (in-game and external) releasing at different speeds seems counter intuitive.
Especially the Long-EZ got several updates in the last time, as they have major issues.
These are still not completely solved with the current version.
This could have impact on MS Marketplace releases due to their quality checks.
My 2 cents on this topic. This simulator is still in its infancy with new updates being released regularly. If you buy any update, from any source, you are taking a risk that, even if it works when you buy it, it may not work after the next update. Also, there is no guarantee that if you buy it from another source, and it gets updated, that the update won’t cause problems in MSFS.
As to why releases of updates get delayed in the Marketplace, maybe Asobos is waiting to make sure it works correctly before releasing it. The Mooney from Carendo is a case in point. Even people who got the update from other sources were having CTD issues when mouse clicking on just about anything in the cockpit. The update was released, weeks later in the Marketplace, and it is now working flawlessly. My point is if you can’t afford to be patient with this you have some options: don’t buy any addons until this platform is a little more stable; Continue buying addons, complain when they don’t work, and try to seek refunds; Or, stop playing MSFS and get a refund for it.
