Denarq Twin Beech - Beech 18 improvements mod. Now for MSFS 2020 and 2024

Read my post number 507 above, it’s how I solved the same/similar problem with my first flight 3 days ago.

Repairing the engine does not fix the problem in the slightest. After the failed start, its status is at 99.7%. When it is back to 100% (and the temperature is back to normal) it does not start again.
(It also does not help to be on the runway instead on the parking area.)

You have to pull the oil shutoff buttons in order to change oil levels.

Manual, page 8.

Anyone has created a Little NavMap profile for the mod? I’ve seen one in flightsim.to for the default version, but I am not sure if it works for the mod.

I also noticed the strong phasing sound in external views. Is there any chance that this is going to be fixed? Other planes have this problem too, but I read it could be fixed by adjusting the length of audio files for the engines.

If you manage to sync the props, the phasing goes away. Getting them to sync properly, however, can be a bit (too) fiddly.

I have only one axis for rpm and its not possible to sync it only with throttle levers. Normally it should be in sync, because its only one rpm axis, but I always hear the phasing.

I found that the phasing also depends on RPMs, so if perfectly synced at some RPM reading it might be off at another.

Swap out the sound file for the old one as described in the manual.
The exterior sound alone is worth the trade.

I tried this mod out today for the first time, a couple of short 15 minute flights starting from cold and dark just to get to know things. I like it a lot! Excellent improvement to systems depth and complexity - really adds a tremendous amount of realism to the experience. I am going to be taking some much-needed time off work next week and look forward to planning a nice medium-range cross-country flight.

I also prefer to use just NAV radios, but for now, my focus is to improve existing systems. This being said, changing avionics to just radios is something I want to do in future.

makes sense, thanks for the mod anyways you have added a ton of realisim to this aircraft.Just NAV radios would be so much fun in this thing, actual old school flying.

Sorry, but this is a no for me. I want with this mod to recreate this beech as real as I can. That’s how I like it. But as UnsealedKarma36 said, feel free to play with engine.cfg values to suite your needs.

Some people irl have fitted this with superchargers but then each to their own,i will try tweaking some engine values.

That’s fine. Maybe there’s a chance to be able to switch off the GNS? I often use NDBs only.

Excellent mod all around, but I can’t seem to get the oil pressure into the green arc, resulting in excessive wear en route:

Any pointers? That would be appreciated!

If oil pressure is low, that tends to indicate the oil is too hot - note the oil temp on the left engine creeping past the green into the yellow range. Open the oil shutters further. What are the ambient conditions where you’re flying and how hard were you pushing the engines for takeoff and climb?

Max oil quantity: 7,5 gallons. See manual p.8

I never flew with too much oil, but maybe this would raise the oil pressure?

Edit: the manual says, this increases the oil pressure.

I made a mixup in my post when decribing the problem. I referred to the oil temps being too high, while in fact the oil pressure is too high, The oil temperature is fine as can bee seen in the screenshot. I edited my post accordingly.

The outside temperature is around 70 °F which is about 21 °C, so neither too hold nor too cold.

Ah, that might be it! I’ll check once I’m on the ground. Thanks!

EDIT: yeah, that was it!

I’ve got a question: Flying from an airport with no parking spots I have to start from the runway. If I do this all wear and tear gets reset, i.e. 100% engine wear and oil filled up. Is there a possibility to change any .cfg file to have it behave the same as if I start cold and dark?

As kaha300d pointed out, oil quantity above 7.5 gallons will increase oil pressure beyond normal values and could lead to oil leaks.
Although these engines oil systems have 3 gallons of reserve space to coupe with oil expansion due to increase temperature, real pilots advise to leave around half a gallon on oil tank to help even more.

Yes. “runway.FLT” and “apron.FLT” inside “Denarq-enhancement-Beech-D18S\SimObjects\Airplanes\MSCarenado_D18S” are the configuration files to set your plane to start on runway and parking. If you copy [Engine Parameters.1.0], [Engine Parameters.2.0] and [LocalVars.0] entire content from apron.FLT to runway.FLT you shoud have your plane with engines off when starting from runway.
This should get all persistent values corrected.
