I use the possibility to have the desktop from mixed reality room floating in cockpit when flying VR. But there is hard to drag the mouse pointer in and out of the window. Is there anything I can do to make it work better?
Moved to Interests-Virtual Reality (VR)
If you use Windows mixed reality: not that I know off.
Will it work better under Steam?
I agree it’s very hard. I watched this youtube video recently showing a method. I even made a comment how I’m currently doing it. Maybe it will help you.
It works perfect under Steam using OVR Toolkit. I wish this tool was available for WMR but it’s not.
I have dual 2D displays connected. I run the sim full screen on one display and I bring my second display/desktop content to VR (Reverb G2 WMR). When I want to move my cursor from the cockpit to desktop I use Alt-Tab which is bound to one of my yoke buttons (you can do it with FSUIPC or Axis and Ohs or similar software). This unlocks my cursor from the sim window (running full screen on one display) and I move the cursor left to my other display. When I want to go back to cockpit, I just move cursor right to my primary display on which sim runs.
Thanks, I get it to work sometimes that way, but not always, and just for som minutes then the pointer be locked.
ist ealy Beta but it is what you are looking for
Uea, perhaps, when it get ready.
I think this is something for Asobo to fix, as when I’m in Mixed Reality house there is no problem go in and out of the desktop windows with the mouse pointer. But as soon as go to Msfs the pointer is locked in the window.
Is it possible to ask Asobo about it…?
I found a solution that works pretty well. The key is to have two windows open in Mixed reality, one floating and one regular, and then enter VR. Then it is enough to have one physical screen.
Can you please explain how you do that? Thank you!
I have alt tab bound to one of my joke buttons, this allows me releasing the cursor from sim window or full screen. Other Windows shortcuts may be even better for this.
I have a mouse button bound to Windows “Task View” mode. When I press that button, task view is displayed in the desktop window and then I can move my mouse cursor and select any open window available. So task view mode frees up the mouse cursor and it also makes it easy to switch to another app quickly.
