[DevDiary] VTBS Suvarnabhumi Airport Thailand | SiamFlight

I believe that SiamFlight VTBS 1.0.10 is now live in the marketplace!
Sorry, it took a bit long to update.

All the ATC and radio personnel are coming back to work now.

Cheers!

Looks like the VTBS Tower Workers are back from the Strike. Great job and very fast SiamFlight. Can’t wait for Phuket  (at least I can pretend it isn’t deep winter where I live)

Btw I have to say the night lighting is superb. One of the best in the Airports I own at least.

Hi, if VTBS has been released as v1.0.10, can you make iniBuilds to update it in iniManager ?
It’s still in v1.0.8.
Regards

Hiya, HarGn

VTBS v1.0.9 and v1.0.10 is for XBOX Marketplace.
v1.0.9 make it compatible with LVFR static airplane add-on (request from XBOX users). But in the mean time I just fire all ATC and apron control personnel, by accident. VTBS have no radio contacts at this v1.0.9

so…

I have to hired everyone back in v1.0.10 so you can contact the tower again.

You don’t have to worry if you on PC and outside of the Marketplace.

The next update (if any) in the future will up VTBS in every store to the same version.

Thanks for your support!

Hiya everyone.

Here’s an update v1.0.11 FS2024 update!

Again, I will keep updating this airport so it’s reflected IRL counterpart,
NavBlue cycle 2501/2502 seems missing all VTBS procedures. I’ll keep looking for the solution.

Cheers!

V1.0.11 installed A-OK via iniMnager into MSFS 2024 without any issues for me on my PC.

Hello, thanks for the update.
So with the NavBlue airac missing procedures, that means that this update comes with no procedure in our simulator ?

Hiya HarGn

I started researching custom NAVAIDs and procedures. Someone pointed me the way, but I need some research time.

Cheers!

ps. hope NavBlu and Asobo fix this soon, though.

I bought the airport new. There seems to be a problem with FSHud. It is not possible to fly to the airport. There doesn’t seem to be an airport. No traffic is fed in either.
The overview map of fshud is empty.
I really have a lot of airports, but I’ve never had that before.

Hiya! olli7352.

Thanks for your feedback!

** please join FSHud Discord for further assistance **
** please open support ticket so your system setup and configuration can be included, for better investigation **

Below is my response for my customers, likely last week. :folded_hands::man_bowing:

For FSHUD, I try my best to connect everything according to the VTBS’s AIRAC document.

You can enable the DevMode of MSFS then check if something is missing. (0001.jpg)
The code of the airport is at the APR point. (0002.jpg)
I am quite sure that I connect it correctly. (0003.jpg, 0004.jpg)

Now this might NOT be the problems of FSHud. At the moment VTBS is in transition period of opening and testing the 3rd runway, the document and data have its delay period.

  • MSFS NAVAIDs data (from NavBlue) is missing all the SID STAR and APP.

  • 3rd party airplane use difference or its own NAVAIDs data source.

  • NaviGraph is the most up-to-date but sometimes its conflict with not up-to-date airport. (I will update my airport as much as I can :folded_hands:)

  • If you bought from MSFS Marketplace, some airport might be encoded and can’t be read by FSHUD. (I think FSHUD already fix this)

In case of AIG, not really sure also :man_bowing: but if there are problems about objects or airplanes does not sit correctly on the ground, you might need to look at

  • “Terrain Level of Details”. This setting dictates all the resolution of MSFS in one go, I mean resolution of textures and digital elevation model. If too low the DEM might not load correctly.

  • Also, please check the “Off Screen Terrain Pre-Caching” setting, Push it to the max so when you fly near your destination and FSHUD/AIG load up AI airplanes, it should have the correct and high-resolution ground level to spawn on.

I am still researching, and try my best to understand the issues with both FSHUD and AIG but my knowledge might be limited, so sorry in advance. :man_bowing:

Hope this help and thank you for your support.

Best.

@SiamFlight Is there any way to use this airport without Navigraph? I’ve tried in multiple different aircraft, but the STAR and SID database is empty.

Hello,

The following section contains incorrect information:

  • If you purchased from the MSFS Marketplace, some airports might be encoded and cannot be read by FSHUD. (I believe FSHUD has already fixed this.)

FSHud reads all scenery, including encrypted files from the Marketplace, using the MSFS SDK.

The issue is that, in this add-on scenery BGL file, all runway ends are marked as closed.
While this is not always reflected in MSFS, I believe the closed flag should be removed, as other add-ons rely on it.

Thank you

Hiya! Thanks for the info. Sorry if the information in my post is incorrect, but I’ll keep it there. :man_bowing:

Will checking on my VTBS.

Cheers!

Good afternoon,
all MSFS 2024 3rd party planes do not catch the LOC/GS for RWY19 (haven’t tried other runways for now). I asked Navigraph and they responded it is a 3rd party scenery issue that is missing some compatibility with SU2 beta.

Hiya! Thanks for the feedback! :folded_hands:

Hiya fshud3909

Thank you for pointing out.
I try to find the problems in my VTBS, both XML and BGL (try to convert back to xml but reallt not sure I’m doing it right or wrong) but really can’t make sense of it.
I really need your help a bit, Can you please point me to the right MSFS SDK Docs page that relate to “runway ends close” or closed flag.

This will help me and customers tremendously.
Sorry for the inconvenient both FSHud and the customers.
:man_bowing::man_bowing::man_bowing:

Sure,

If you open VTBS scenery BGL file in ADE Editor or similar, you can find two flags for runway: PRIMARY CLOSED
SECONDARY CLOSED

Those flags are set to true and must be set to false.

:man_bowing::saluting_face: will checking it asap.

Hiya, sorry for bothering you again :man_bowing:

Here’s what I found so far.
Every “PrimaryClosed” and “SecondaryClosed” are “False” already.

And to my understanding these flags are in Markings section that for display a big yellow X marking texture on the runway.

I use PrimaryTakeoff/SecondaryTakeoff and PrimaryLanding/SecondaryLanding to force ATC to use only intended landing and takeoff that specific in the AIRAC.

For example, I use these flags in VTCH - Mae Hong Son, because there is a mountain side on one side of the runway, so VTCH can only landing and takeoff just one side of that runway.

Now I am really confused, and not really sure how to remove these flags, Or maybe I am looking at the wrong place. Please help. :man_bowing:

I use ADE MSFS ALPHA21 HF5

RWY 02R/20L

RWY 02L/20R

RWY 01/19

Can anyone confirm these parameters for me with ADE?
