DG1001: too little rudder authority

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Rudder authority in the default DG1001 is suspiciously low, making landings in less than ideal conditions unreasonably risky.

I have never flown a DG1001 but I have flown Twin Astir II and III two-seaters. I don’t remember that those had such a weak rudder.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Take the DG1001 for a circuit. Set clear skies and no wind. I fly at LEFM.
  2. Align on final for a landing and extend the brakes to control your rate of descent.
  3. Notice how little rudder authority you have.
