I am just working through my FS2024 system “standardising” my control profiles as far as that is possible in 2024 …
I came to the DHC4 Caribou, from which I expected no problems at all, but to my surprise it is almost unflyable. The problem lies with the Ailerons, which while they appear to be moving to their maximum Up/down positions, and with straight line axis the aircraft hardly turns at all. In fact, the Elevator axis is similar, providing very little altitude/pitch control in whatever bank I manage to get it to go to.
Does anyone have any ideas what may be wrong, or is this default aircraft simply broken ?
I set it up and did a flight in it a few weeks ago and did not experience the problem you are describing.
Long shot, but I think it is one that is not enabled by default, did you restart the sim between enabling it and trying to set it up? I think 2024 is supposed to handle that better than 2020 did.
I flew it today and didn’t have any issues.
I have retried this aircraft, and because I notice that several 3rd pa\rrty aircraft I HAVE PURCHASED RECENTLY INSIST ON USING THE MODERN FLIGHT MODE I also tried switching between Legacy and Modern Flight Modes in case that was effecting it, but with NO SUCCESS.
The Elevator is useable, but despite watching the yoke turn all the way left or right, the aircraft will just not do what the yoke is telling it to do and bank left or right appropriately.
I have dead straight “curves” in the configuration system.

You can see how small the aileron offset is from these 2 pics ? That is absolute MAX deflection…
IMO, you should always use modern flight model. Legacy was primarily for using FSX aircraft in 2020. I have never used legacy ever, in 2020 or 2024.
I don’t mean to insult your intelligence, but let’s start with the basics. Have you moved the control lock lever to unlocked? (Big lever forward of the throttle levers.)
