Hi there , as the title says about different airspaces, What are they and what does it mean?.. Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA
Hello @TheTwister7156,
All across the globe, airspace is divided into different classifications. Each class of airspace has different rules and different requirements before pilots are allowed to enter that space (for example, flying in certain classes of airspace is restricted to planes on an IFR flightplan only; VFR traffic is prohibited). You can read more here:
In Microsoft Flight Simulator, you can choose to ignore airspace restrictions if that’s your preference. It’s important to know about this if you use a live ATC network like Vatsim, IVAO, or PilotEdge, though.
If you are flying outside of FAA, the airspace classes don’t match reality though. Class D for control zones for example is largely incorrect outside the US. Also “flight following” is not a thing outside US.
Flight following exists in Canada too.
Yeah US and Canada are also close when it comes to phraseology isn’t it? So it’s US and Canada against the rest of the world in that case .
