Differential Braking Problem

I have rudder pedals and use differential braking when taxiing/turning tight corners. I have an issue with the Longitude where when the left or right brake is applied it’s not working properly. When looking at the rudder pedals in the aircraft (when the rudder pedal brake is applied) you can see that’s it’s juddering.

What can this be caused by?

Just this particular aircraft or does it happen with all?
If the later I would suggest there is a assignment conflict, or perhaps the brakes are not set as axis?

Just this aircraft, all the others work fine

Maybe differential brakes aren’t enabled in this model.
That said, the Longitude does have already a very small turning radius without using the brakes.

The juddering effect indicates the brakes are locked up. Try applying gradual pressure on the pedals. It’s just like a car; the more you press, the more you brake.

I have this problem as well. I fly the Citation almost exclusively and even when parked if I hard right or left the rudder, I can see it jumping about. Even if I hold the rudder all the way to one side or the other, it will jump back to center intermittently. I’ve always had a hard time turning the aircraft on the ground, unless I was rolling at a sweet-spot speed… then it handled great, but at slower speeds I’d rather be steering a sheet of plywood with a rope.

I’ve also noticed that the reverse thrust works fine if I start a flight from a runway, but if I try a cold start I can never get the reverse thrust to back the aircraft up from a gate. I must be missing something.

I fly the stock MSFS Citation with no third party addons.

[Edit: Problem solved. I had my HOTAS that I use for Helicopter flight still plugged in… once I pulled the USB out of that… everything is fine. I remember setting rudder axis to the twist of the stick… and so did MSFS. ]

Go into fs20 control options, and make sure your brakes are separately mapped to “Right Brake Axis” and “Left Brake Axis”.

Some flight controllers have an option named “Split Axis” or “Combine Axis” in their control panel software that might have to be check if you still can’t bind it correctly in game.
