I’m looking forward to Direct X 12 when its ready but I know Asobo well enough to know not to opt in to that beta when it launches.

Great news, looking forward to trying out DX12!

It’s like someone can’t stop pouring new tasks with deadly deadlines over Asobo to keep the gaming world buzz going instead of letting them do what a majority of the less superficial community wants them to do, and what I guess they’d love to do themselves - finishing the sim core and all the half-baked stuff they had to release.

It was originally set to launch in the summer but they pushed it back. I’m confident they’ve been working on it since to avoid issues

If I remember correctly, DX12 will be an option, similar to FSX’s “DirectX 10 preview” switch

Has there been any word on what the 5 new aircraft will be? Have they mentioned the price for the Reno pack? Or maybe they’ll reveal this tomorrow during the dev Q&A

Tell me. What did they do with SU6 exactly?
Yes. Fixes for the core sim!

I didn’t claim anything else. But now that this is out it’s announcements and deadlines for flashy novelties again while the issues and omissions backlog is still long.

It has all been said already.

Just tell me one of the like 4 or 5 different potentially really cool things my quickly aging PC can do are implemented, ray tracing, dlss, that fancy new loading thing (sorry I’ve had drinks) and a few other whats it’s and thingamabobs.

The BAR thing thats another

Edit: make anything “gaming+Windows” actually make it better.

I think it’s an excellent update
allot of improvements so far

It’s already been delayed from a Summer release and it’s going to be an Option to use until they roll it out to everyone, put the pitchforks away!

Two things that stand out from your posts:

And

The first one has an air of arrogance that I see more often on this forum. Like the sim is only meant for serious pilots having 10.000+ hours irl. Everyone else, who is ‘just’ playing around should’t have a voice here.

The second one carries a derogatory tone as well Like the ‘game’ is all about eye candy and not about ‘real flying’.

This is a pity. Because what Asobo is trying to do here is building a flight sim world that is inclusive and not exclusive. This means for people who have never flown before, who ‘just’ want to whizz around and enjoy the view to rl pilots that want to stay current by rehearsing the procedures.

In doing so Asobo will have the largest user base, from which we all profit, because they will be able to deliver on all fronts for many years to come.

To me this inclusive aspect of the sim is the greatest asset of msfs. I am able to fly with my head in the skies, or in the cockpit: VFR or IFR. And Asobo will keep on improving both experiences. That’s what they explain every time in the Q&A.

Of course there’s room for improvement on many issues. That’s why we get two SU’s in a row, then one WU and after that SU8 in Jan2022. Asobo has said they themselves want to get rid of a big chunk of the backlog. I can only agree with that. But in my view the visual aspects (the ‘flashy’ novelties) are as important as the cockpit, flight model and weather realism.

Cheers!

If DX12 only allows them to do one thing in fixing all the terrible reflection bugs, i’ll be happy.

I thought they told us in the last Q&A that they did not plan to implement dlss, because they didn’t expect great advantages from this technology relative to the cost to implement it.

LOL
for someone who can’t know me at all (I’m not even 24hrs on this forum) you are reading a lot of things I didn’t say (or mean) into the few lines I wrote. It seems to bother you
well, please continue if it makes you feel better.

They can’t get it to run in Directx 10 how are they going to handle 12

There’s only one thing I’m interested in re. DX12 implementation and that is

Will nVidia users be able to run msfs without having to use OGL or, at least get the option to?

It’s known that nvidia GPU’s performance suffers in many games when using OGL.
Other simulators have launch options to run in either DX or OGL at startup.
