Disable approach procedure for landing when creating flight on world map

Is there a way to tell FS2024 to skip the Airfield traffic pattern on approach?

I usually do VFR bush flights, and when selecting departure runway, waypoints and arrival runway I often get a rather unwieldy arrival flight path. I understand that in theory you are supposed to cross the runway to check it’s free of obstacles and then follow the Airfield traffic pattern, and that’s probably what FS2024 wants me to do.

However, I have been passenger in several sightseeing flights and never ever did one of them follow this procedure. They talked to the tower to check the runway is free and then they either landed directly from the direction they were heading from or, at maximum, did turn to land from the opposite direction if the wind direction required it.

I don’t want to start a discussion about what is “right” or “wrong” in reality, I just would like to know if I can tell FS2024 to generate the type of simpler approaches which I’ve seen in reality.

P.S. It seems I can change the “approach procedure” to “direct” afterwards in the EFB, but the world map still shows this unwieldy knot.

It’s honestly very stupid. While over flying the field to a teardrop entry to the downwind is a valid pattern entry its not usually done in the real world. But the way its implemented in the sim feels like someone saw it in a textbook and said “Ahh they do this everytime”

In the screenshot you posted in the real world (depending on the terrain, airspace, weather etc) I would have lined up on a long final rather than the overly and entry they planned out… There’s also no obligation to fly that route, so I usually just do what I’d do in the real world
