Gang - I am using triple monitors and will get green/orange dots in the center of the side monitors (apparently marking grass/paved runways at nearby airports) while airborne.
Is there a way to disable the green/orange dots??
I have ‘airport markers’ turned off in “Assistance Options”.
They are annoying!
Thanks -
Pete
Thanks TinJungle - but I had turned off “airport markers” from the very start of my testing - the green/orange dots showing locations of grass/paved runway airports still exist.
Anyone know how to disable the side monitor green/orange dots??
Pete
Are you talking about some kind of bug maybe? This doesn’t sound like a known feature of the simulator.
Agreed. Never seen/heard anyone about this. Or seen it myself, for that matter.
Try setting it on and save. Then go back and set off and save. Maybe even set it on , save. Close MSFS. Restart MSFS and set it off, save and restart. Then set it off again. Weird stuff sometimes has required that. Might be set in the cloud overriding it.
Thanks everybody - I will try to get a screenshot.

Folks - attached are screenshots of the left monitor with the red dot and right monitor with the green dot.
Help!!

arrows point at the dots. It only happens with MSFS2020. I have never seen them with any other program I use. They are always on the side monitors.
This is probably a bug in either the simulator or the particular aircraft model that causes the navigation lights on your aircraft to appear at the incorrect location.
I’ve seen this on AI planes from time to time, so it may be a general simulator bug.
It is unlikely to have anything to do with marking airport locations.

It looks like they were the navigation lights located at the extremity of each wing (red for the left wing and green for the right one), but your wings are like invisible. Try to switch off your nav lights and see if the dots disappear.

They are the navigation lights. Brilliant!! I have disabled the interior and exterior views of the C172 because I built a full C172 cockpit with an instrument panel.
I didn’t want the exterior of the plane to interfere with the view I have in my homebuilt cockpit.
You are are so helpful and friendly. Thank you all - Vibstrontium and DementedCorn and the others.
Brilliant deduction, guys - thanks a million.
