With AI Traffic off and no mods, like before the patch:
Still no CTDs after trying a mix of airports and planes
Did not try airliner in SU5 pre patch since the sim was crashing.
But I am getting horrible screen tearing inside the cockpit of B747 and A320 even when I drop setting to low end. I have never seen this before SU5, ever, even on ultra settings.
Edit: workaround : lock FPS to 30.
Oh, and popup scenery happening for city tower blocks etc. Could see London City from Elstree and further out previously. Now itās just now there until you get closer, and then the buildings pop up on by one.
Just horrid. Why is this broken now - it was fine before.
And popup of trees a couple of miles out from the plane, even though trees are already draw much further away without popup.
And strange annoying low level buzzing noises even while the sim loads now.
And the update deconfigured my PS4 controller which I have used for months as a secondary controller for views.
And my Siatek Trim Wheel operation direction was reversed.
And it BSODs, CTDs and just plain locks up after a few minutes of flight.
Asobo seem to be out of their depth with this. Totally overloaded crew trying to launch Xbox when they havenāt fixed the core logic of the sim.
So disappointed.
Havenāt been able to fly for about a month due to CTDs, waited for SU5, couldnāt fly at all as it crashed before takeoff, waited for patch, now it crashes after a few minutes of flight.
Why does this complex software not have an automatic log file/reporting mechanism to Asobo for faults? Yes I said faults, not bugs.
Bugs are minor problems. Faults stop things functioning.
Hotfix worked for me. Previously, the sim locked up when I started WMR Portal. Now it did not.
I took a sunrise flight out of Hilo, HI in the DA-62 and had no problems. There may have been one freeze for a second or less but nothing like it was. I have only flown for 30 minutes before needed to go back to work but so far so good!

I had the same happen when the Hotfix stalled when downloading.
I finally X-ed out as was afraid I had toasted the whole sim installation.
I was actually delighted to see it recognized the partial update corruption (?) and re-installed the whole BASE sim again.
After that, working āwellā !!
Up til SU4 it was fine.
If Asobo wants a stronger power unit for SU5, they better put it in their specs. 
Just finished an Airbus flightā¦ but problems with the flight planning and altitude (too high, too low)ā¦ I thought that was supposed to be fixedā¦ oh wellā¦ next patch!
Thatās odd - maybe some conflict with something else I have then. Is yours marketplace or community folder?
How was your cockpit any screen tearing by any chance?

No, it all looked fine. Apart from that silly pixelated PFD. But thatās unrelatedā¦
Overall itās smooth, if you can avoid the CTDs. All the other stuff is just likeā¦ wellā¦ whatever. I guess getting it to fly for now is enoughā¦
Yeah, going to have to be a bit more methodical from now on I think.
Many thanks to you and @TheRealTwig4426 for your help on this - I do feel that I am at least making progress - previously it would crash at the menu which is now fixed.
Need more time flying to be sure totally solved, but so far so good.

I donāt know why I am getting screen tearing inside the cockpit of airliners even on the lowest graphics settings. Never seen this before.
I guess Iāll stick with GA planes.
Updated patch no problem, quick check flight with default a320 was ok. Reloaded with FBW - CTD on Fly now button. Rebooted, restarted - FBW CTD x3 on Fly Now. Restarted with default neo, ok with a few stutters - hmmm. Only had 1 CTD after SU5 update - have had 3 in 1/2 hour after patch. Obviously doesnāt like FBW (developer) and/or liveries either at the the moment.
Mine is from the marketplace, but I saw in the Orbx forums that others had issues with it too, so seems they will create a patch soon (Orbx).
Well do note I have capped my framerate to 30. Avoiding some heating problems. I really donāt think this program is that intense, graphically. Iāve seen very nice videos on a 1080 NVIDIA. I donāt need my 2060 to go to 99%. Thereās just no point. I have everything on ultra now and 30 frames is plenty.
Yeah it loaded fine - I do have the ORBX landmarks for City of London but havenāt installed it since WU 3 when it broke.
High altitude temp spikes still happening. Currently at FL450 with ISA +89C and starting to stall due to incorrect temps aloft.
Downloaded fine. Flew the cub crafter for 10 mins and landed without issue. During loading of leg 2 of the Denmark activity the game crashed during loading. Not a good sign for a hotfix.
Altitude reporting is still borked. Iām at FL240 and ATC is yelling at me to expedite my climb to FL230.
Ditto with temperature. Iām showing 63C at FL240.
The 300 below / 300 above is also not fixedā¦
