Yes I was flying around LA yesterday and the square tile edges showed as black lines some of the time in the ocean, they would come and go as I flew.
The mesh falling apart as you fly over it is getting worse. Its high time this was brought up in a Q&A and some sort of fix planed.
Did a flight in the Kodiak.
Took off from Westchester county north of NYC.
Flew south over the Hudson and landed at Linden Airport.
My cruising altitude was about 2500 feet.
The experience I had performance wise was horrendous.
In the air above and near the city of new York it was great 60fps but on the ground and during approach the fps were cut in half.
How!?
Cheers Mark
I live along the shore in NJ. There is a music venue here that sets up an outdoor section in summer. They got rid of a small elevated section of seating in 2015 i believe. Its still in the sim, and right next door has been a 10 story goant building for about 4 years now. Still just a parking lot in the sim. This is an area thats less than 25 miles from NYC.
KSFO was the same for me the last time I visited. I used to be able to fly around there, and taxi around the airport with no frame rate issues before. I shot a video of that back on August 26th 2020, and it was fine back then. But its atrocious now.
The crazy thing is that back then I was running a 9900K with an Nvidia 1080.
I now have a 11900K, and 3090 FE, and it performs worse now than it did back then, which makes me think that something has gone fundamentally wrong here.
Restart the SIM then Nordics should update fully
Japan was WU 1
KSFO i’ve found weird with fps after SU9??? simply with wind and turbulence implementation time. No problems before…
If I can report,
no problems with update. No ctd after all, what i see now is that antialiasing is there sgain, looks to me. Still ssme FPS as from SU9 and maybe some little bit better with stutters. As i said previously, no world updates to me but saw some aircraft patched.
Surely PG has had to have been mixed with terrain from a different season before. The color adjustment of the data segment would be altered. Much like Bijan does with his season apps. And then the data is merged. The whole world modelled once, and 9 other World Updates, this surely has been encountered and corrected before. This cannot be the first time base terrain and PG have been from different seasons. No where else on the map so far do you go from green terrain to muted city, with there being a very clear line where the data was patched. This isn’t as impossible a task as you are making it out, otherwise we would be seeing the square patches where PG data has been injected into the model before this.
As far as I know, Manual Cache works only with photogrammetry cities and independently of Rolling Cache. My tests confirm this too, I’ve always used Manual Cache, where I select the areas I want to save, even without Rolling Cache enabled.
In the PC version, Rolling Cache and Manual Cache are two different and independent things, Manual is only for areas with photogrammetry. Just as an example: I saved Gold Coast (Australia) mixing medium and high quality, the file was about 7GB.
You would’ve thought they’d have done Santa Monica pier as a handcrafted POI after a couple US updates. Just seems strange not to considering how popular it is.
I got to love the new and “improved” Monument Valley. love the double shadows, are they supposed to be clocks?
Upcoming Star Wars tie in, they are working on getting the twin suns right.
You are sure you’re still on Earth?
Looks more like Tattoine, but if I remember correctly, the 2 suns are not that far apart as the shadows might suggest.
Yeah, once with professionals …
If you find the Bing data they used in those instances it’s usually taken from an agricultural survey …I imagine with some deliberate filter?
Please watch the complete one-minute video to see how the data loads, and then unloads. So far only at this destination. No such experience anywhere else.
