Discussion: World Update II: USA

Great to hear! It’s also encouraging that we don’t have the usual explosion of “Asobo you broke my sim” posts :grinning:

Yes, the game is much smoother now. Flying around Chicago is much smoother than yesterday. Tested with the a320nx and it felt good.

Iron Maiden still around the corner for you!

I remember times in past years where we would need to shell out a lot of cash for such world updates from third parties.

…thank you for improving the simulator, Asobo. I love you all.

Sim is moving in the right direction! I’m looking forward to the next few months, it’s really improving!

Patch downloaded and installed no issue, downloading the world update from the marketplace now.

It’s a sign that thousands of users are all trying to download the patch files at the same time.

I like it when these updates get pushed while I am at work. When I get home things have often quietened down a bit.

really odd seeing those different patch sizes for some users.

For me:
252MB update from Steam for the client.
12.75GB update from within the Sim.
4.24GB for the world update from the marketplace.

I’m guessing if you’re seeing larger than 12,75GB download for the patch, then maybe the sim detected changed/corrupted gamefiles and is downloading those as well?

I just took the Citation Longitude up to 40000ft and she is rock solid, I’m a very happy bunny

Improvements might be modest there, too. In TomsHardware’s test (which sadly is 1440p Ultra only) the jump from 3900XT to 5900X is only 45 to 49 fps, while the gain from 1800X (closer to what I went from) is a lot bigger since the 1800X only scored 28 fps.

Just landed at AYMD during the new update, turnoff engine, game frozen, quite to desktop and now update gives me a 106GB full reinstall :joy:

Anyone else experiencing a very slow download? I’m hovering at 10Mbits/s on a 50Mbit ethernet connection. Ryzen 5 3600 25% and 2070 Super 50% utilisation.

Wait really? That’s great if true! Anyone else having the same experience?

nope, it was completely utilizing my 64Mbps connection all the way through.

This kind of stuff always confuses me…

Hand flying the plane it’s rock solid. It’s the AP that’s the issue.

However, I’ll see for myself when I get home from work and can actually try it out for myself.

There are many updates for different aircraft as well, so if you either the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe versions you will have more to download.
