I was wondering if there are any suggestions whether to use DP or HDMI?
I have seen some recommendations that some bugs can only be experienced with DP but Idk if they are substantiated.
If specs play a role, monitor is ultrawide 1440p 100Hz connected to nvidia card.
Many thanks.
If my hardware supports it, I always default to DP.
DP is - certainly at higher resolutions [and throughput] - the superior cable type.
Just ensure that you buy a decent quality one - 1.4 standard or better.
These are reasonably priced on Amazon.

I’d definitely go for DP. It can support refresh rates that an HDMI cable cannot.

I’ve just swapped HDMI cable for DP.
I do not notice any difference through my 144hz at 1440 monitor except for one thing…my DP cable has locking at the video card end.
Also just found out that not all browsers support 144hz.

Nice to see a thread where we can all agree then!
Now watch somebody go and spoil things. Haha.

15 pin D-Sub… VGA all the way, baby!
Jim-Sim
(had to go there)
But for the record, I too have a 3440x1440p Ultrawide at 100Hz and I’m running a Display Port cable.

So it would be easier to read the MCDU if I used DP instead of Composite?
I wanted to 2nd
captainLIF’s recommendation to get a good qaulity cable; they are not all made the same as some will tell you. It is good to get DP version 1.;4 support which not all cables will have, but I wanted to add that I’ve read that if you need to go any longer than 3 meters (~6 ft), you will need a DP cable certified for that. Some will tell you that it’s just 1’s and 0’s travelling through the cable so why does it matter? It does.
By the way, I find text of all sorts easier to read at higher monitor-supported refresh rates. DP allowed me to up my monitors rate from that available when I used HDMI. Check Windows video settings after you’re connected up to check. The option was not there when using HDMI and was there with DP. I can not comment on different refresh rates when it comes to MSFS; there are plenty more knowlegeable than me (I?) on that.
