So this is my test setup for testing analog vs digital for pitch control. It’s an old Saitek yoke I gutted and used for parts. As one might expect the analog input with 1023 steps is much cleaner and smother than the digital one with 120 steps. Both operate very well but centering is a problem with the digital input. I’m sure thousands of people already knew analog control was better than digital but…. I am an experimenter so I had to see for myself. The input with the arm is analog and the gear rail one is digital. The ball bearing drawer rails are perfect though. Smooth, no binding and plenty of motion. This one is about 140 mm but the finally project will be 230 to 240 mm of travel.
