DLC needed

I’ve been looking for a DLC I have searched and can’t find one. I want to use an aircraft and all of the downloads say DLC is required. I don’t know anything about it. Free or paid is fine. Also, why is it needed for Moonies and so far not any other aircraft I have wanted?BTW, I didn’t see anywhere else to post this so I hope it is in the right area!

Topic moved into #third-party-addon-discussion:aircraft where third party products can be discussed.

Content Creators is for videos about MSFS :+1:

Is that what you’re looking for?

Hi
I was looking on flightsim.to they have more than one. But, they all say DLC is required. I haven’t run into that with any other item. I’ve seen that one but I don’t want to buy it until I know I will like the aircraft. I bought the Bonanza when it first came out but I had owned one when I got started flying and was the only aircraft I was interested in. All of that is why I put it in Content Creators after all they are the ones requiring it and probably would have the answer. Also, might know why it seems to be the only aircraft that requires it.

I have tried to download them but they say installed but do not show up in my Hangar.

Not entirely sure what you mean but those Mooney files on flightsim.to are liveries and other modifications for the payware Carenado plane not the plane itself… You can buy it on the ingame marketplace.

Yes, I’m sorry i misread one of the add-ons as the actual plane.
It is a payware plane so i guess that’s what they mean about DLC…you have to purchase it.

Then why have I been able to download flightsim Reims rocket 172 Bush classic 172? they have not been put into the folders for the 172? I do have 3 Bonanzas and a 150. Also, Most I have tried have installed and not run in the sim no picture in the folder either. Why don’t they say you need to own the original to use them? Some of us are new and don’t fully know the ins and out of the sim. I first started with scenery and never had the problem.

Well it is hard to blame someone else on your not understanding. Just look at the categories on top. If it is in liveries it is just that, a livery or paint job for an airplane that you need to own. If you click on other you can find the aircraft category. These are new planes you can download. Actually quite easy.

The Reims Rocket is a modification for the Cessna 172. All that requires is that you have the default 172 by Asobo installed for that to work.

All the Mooney stuff on flightsim.to are either liveries/paint schemes or small modifications like changes to the camera for the payware Mooney by Carenado which you can find on the in-game marketplace as the Carenado M20R Ovation. i.e they ‘require the DLC’ (downloadable content) in order to work.

There are a bunch of completely free planes made by modders on flightsim.to as well, as orthi explained above they’re in the airplanes category on flightsim.to here (this category also contains some of the payware flightsim.to sell)

There’s also modifications to existing planes, both to payware planes and to the freely available planes here: If it says DLC required then you’ll need to buy whatever it is the mod is for for it to work.

I would like to download some liveries foe A32nx Fly by wire. DLC is required: Did upou understand what that means? Is DLC an add on to buy? Is an acronymus for something? Thank you for your help

The FBW A320 is the DLC. If you already installed it, you’re good to go.

DLC required is just a super simpel way of saying that it’s not meant for one of the stock Asobo planes

DLC stands for Downloadable Content.

The DLC in this case is the actual A320 mod by Fly By Wire. You can’t install a livery for a plane you don’t have, make sense?

Make sense. It seems quite obvious and not necessari to Point ed out. I believed DL eere for De Luxe version

Thank you, very clear.

As you can tell by the questions on this thread, it is obviously not obvious to some people that other software is required to run many of the thousands of available liveries and other downloadable content, and perfectly understandable that people new to the game don’t understand this fact. Also, even people very familiar with the process may not be aware of addons that are available. Hence, authors of liveries and so on say what software is required to use their addons.

I understand What you mean and probably you are right. I Just pointed out that in this case seems to be a little redundant considering that the title of the mod is referrrd a32 nx fbw aitcraft. Further the acronymus dls required is quite misleading. In any case thank you for your help.

Not really, since an A320 comes with the sim by default, people might not understand the difference between it and the FBW modded version.

The acronym “DLC” has been commonly used and understood in the gaming industry for years. However, there are a segment of people who play flight sims who literally don’t play any other type of game, and so they are, frankly, ignorant of these things.
