Very bad advice, as only you know what it means. Read my original postabove where, I explained 2K is a 1080p resolution (the 2K is approximate HORIZONAL Pixels at 16:9).
Game developers are more likely to read 2K as 1080p/FHD, and since this is a site where bugs can be raised… to game developers… better to get that right!
Strange. Whenever I was playing MMOs over the last few years, it was mostly the Brits and Europeans that seemed to mostly use that terminology. Others always seemed to use 1440p. It could have been just the groups I was involved with though. It just sounded to me like it was “a thing” over there since they all said that and I guess I assumed incorrectly.
I’m from the UK and people who use monitors rather than TV’s do know the difference. Not quite sure what SensiLeNoir is on about as he must know (if he is British) that Monitors are sold as either 1080p, 1440p(2k) or 4k. It’s easily checkable on sites like Scan, CCL or any of them. Also YT reviewers use the same terms. 1080p has never been classed as 2k, by anyone.
I had a 16:10 monitor that was 1680 by 1050. But I referred to it as 1080p or HD.
I then got an IPS 32" 16:9 monitor that was simply referred to as 1440p which I saw as a 2K monitor.
I’m aware that technically, 1440p is actually 65 percent of 2160p. But most people just know it’s in the ballpark of being “midway” between 2160 and 1080.
Anyway. Let’s just hope that the DX12 DLSS gets sorted out regardless of your resolution.
You really didnt read mine and @Crunchmeister71 message, 2K should NOT be used to describe the 1440 resolution monitors as the 2K is actually Horizontal resolution (2K = 2000) and in monitors is correctly refering to 1080p/FHD as well as 2K dci, a cenema resolution of 2040 x 1080.
Some manufacturers mislabel their 1440p monitors as 2K but they are wrong, and some have indeed been refered to both the ASA when advertised as so. just google 2k resolution and also 1440p and look at the respective Wiki pages, and especially look at the page for 1440.
CCL do NOT refer to 1440p as 2k, and nor to scan, though some manufaturers still mislable their products.
in normal slang is 2K equivalent to WQHD or also 1440p … We all know, that it not match with the real amount of pixels. 2K not means “in normal slang” a normal Full-HD (1.920×1.080) monitor, here its usually FullHD or 1080p.
“2K” for video editors is a different story ( simple max 2048 in width ). Its similar to 4K vs UHD , and all that mistakes around that naming stuff. Buts not important for normal users
I see, so this happens only with DX12? How is the load on DX11?
I can understand why your maintrhead would be hammered with maxing out settings and especially TLOD 400 and such. Im assuming no DLSS as it shouldnt be needed on a 3090.
Fullscreen any better?
New drivers 517.48 have fixed the blurry glass instruments for me.
On the other hand I notice a strange effect when flying over water, that patches of water can look grainy, and more noticeable when there is movement or in the area that is seen through the propeller.
No issues flying over land.
I was just thinking last night that water looked strange blurry mess with some banding artifacts. Not sure if it was DLSS, but it surely has to be as I haven’t seen it before. Approaching RJGG -
