DLSS - What happened to the idea of ‘masking’ glass cockpits/ instruments to negate poor image quality?

Some time ago on one of the Q&A Development streams there was a potential solution raised to mask glass cockpits and instruments to prevent them from being visually degraded while using DLSS, whay happened to this idea/ possible solution?

I heard a rumor on this forum that they eventually realized DLSS doesn’t have the necessary API to do that. Don’t have a reference handy though.

Martial kept making excuses in subsequent Q&As, it’s went from Nvidia working on it and it’ll soon be fixed one month to a few month’s later he claimed the guy they needed to talk to was “on holiday” to then saying it can’t be done at all.

It’s a shame they can’t be honest with us getting outset, blurry screens with DLSS is a major issue.

Try the latest DLSS version, and use DLSS DLAA. Quality is still a bit blurry, and I don’t recommend it.

In 2020 I lost all the blurryness but in 24 I can’t use DLSS DLAA

Similar fate as the devstream “that they would definitely do next time that will focus a lot on VR” I would imagine

It is not gonna happen. They said they will fix it 4 years ago and nothing happened.
I won’t spend $2k on new 5000 series GPUs or MSFS addons. This what the devs of both MS and NVIDIA expect us to do. No, It is time to go to flight training centre and learn it for real. Enough of this mediocre blurry VR illusion. The devs don’t really care about VR players.

Its a little blurry so i havent been that bothered by it, but for reference DLAA is just a slightly better TAA, and your frustration is consistently felt with this reddit group. r/FuckTAA
