DME equipment for analogue cockpits

There is a lack of DME instrument for the analogue cockpits, which severely limits the use cases for those aircraft (DHC-2, C172, C152, PA28 and so on). There has already been some topics touching on the same topic, but not outright asking for just DME, like this one No DME instrument in DHC-2 Beaver?

With how the planes are currently the user is severely limited in IFR navigation in a modern environment. VOR, Localiser or approaches using base turn mostly depend on DME.

My wish is that the MSFS crew creates a DME instrument, to lift the use and enjoyment of several aircraft. Either just a digital one like this:

Or in addition more analogue version like this:

What you are asking would also need the display added to the cockpits and configured to work with that cockpits existing setup. That’s likely more the issue than the instrument itself.

You can actually utilise the DME data the sim provides without any mod to the sim itself by having an external gauge display the values. Air Manager would work or perhaps an old Saitek FIP might do the job. Even a 7 segment display configured with Mobiflight.
