Do I need to set Virtual Memory?

I have 48GB DDR5 7000 RAM. Do I need to change anything in Windows as far a Virtual Memory or do I just let Windows manage it?

If you go by the devs that wrote it, leave it alone unless you are running a server farm. If you want to follow gamer snake oil, change it. Then probably complain about having an unstable system. It is not just for memory overflow situations as many like to think.

I played with it many times over the years and never got a reproducible improvement o since FSX, I never touch it. Though I know others will probably claim great benefits.

So if you do change it, and you do have stability issues in the future, try to remember to put it back to system manager.

No, leave it at the Windows default.

Just gonna add to what the others said… Leave at default.

Thank you all

I increased mine to 16GB to stop CTDs and it worked. But that was many SUs ago and may not still be necessary.

I’ve always matched the virtual memory size to my physical memory size. 64Gb might be a little extreme but I have the room so it’s no big deal.
