I don’t think you do. In fact, I think it costs more to buy standard and then upgrade than just to buy 2024 Premium Deluxe.

From what I have read, anyone who wants the upgrade now is spending over the odds than if they had bought the more expensive version in the first place. The marketplace upgrades are therefore costing more overall.
I don’t even think you can buy the expensive version outright and then add it. Also, now if you have any career mode advancement and licences they have got you by the … and you have to pay the increase because I know I certainly wouldn’t uninstall and reinstall a new version to lose all my progress. Sad but true for sure!
