Do you think adding many MODS to the community folder will eventually slow the sim down? I am thinking that after lets say, adding 20 or 30 airplanes, then 100’s of new scenery directories, how slow will the sim be. I assume it has to read what is in there.
Performance no, loading yes.
Loading yes, no doubts and confirmed by ASOBO. Performance, it will depend the quality of MOD, for example for cities. Bu t in general no.
Generally speaking, liveries, scenery thats not loaded in your immediate area, and aircraft flight model tweaks won’t affect your performance at all. Just load times like people said. More complex addons with actual code that needs to run and scenery that IS loaded in your immediate area could potentially lower your framerates. It heavily depends on the complexity of the addon and how much effort the developer put into optimising it.
Performance wise, it depends on the mods, especially those who change the behavior like the ones that improve the Garmin, the Javascript must be optimized.
Yes they will.
Depends on what you’re loading. The problem would be anything with large amounts of data, or graphics that haven’t been optimised. Given the vast amounts obviously being loaded, it shouldn’t make a huge difference.
Yes, and they must be updated and check for that, even liveries. Hope some automatism for that would be implemented in the organizer mods for FS2020.
