Does anyone else's mouse/hardware bindings not work?

The sim looks beautiful and the activities/career look like fun. But I am missing super basic functionality and want to know if anyone is going through the same thing.

The mouse on my XBOX can’t be used to look around anymore. It spins like crazy and gets stuck. I can’t bind anything to my HOTAS or Boeing Yoke. In hardware settings the little ball doesn’t move for any axis. All the button/axis numbers for the yoke and quadrant are different from 2020 so I have no idea which button is which, which makes binding almost impossible. On the odd chance when I figure out which button is which, the bindings don’t do anything in the plane. I can’t get my pedals to register (toe brakes work). I don’t know which axis they are because none of the axes move, as mentioned.

Is anyone else experiencing any or all of these symptoms? While ultimately I’d love for this to be fixed, for now I’d be satisfied just to know now if it’s a me problem or a sim problem.

Thanks for your input

Yes. Mine is doing the exact same and I posted it here: MSFS 2024: Guide to Setting Cockpit & Exterior Views? - #7 by Outlaw67195

I have been having to use a combination of my joystick HOTAS, mouse (to zoom) and XBOX controller to do what I was able to do only with my mouse in FS20. Sounds like it is another bug that they need to get worked out.

I have literally spent all day figuring out the bindings. I have it pretty good now, but definitely not perfect and nothing like I had for FS20.

Thanks for your reply. Not being able to use the mouse to look around really affects my enjoyment of the game. Good on you for pushing through and using THREE devices to do the job. I hope they flag this issue and fix it asap.

Same issue for me.

It’s driving me crazy. Makes me wonder, did anyone test Xbox + mouse. I tried changing a few settings but no go.

Sure hope they drop an update soon. So many issue on console. :slightly_frowning_face:

(It’s CTD fest for me.)

I’m sorry to hear that. Sometimes I’m so frustrated by the control bindings not working that I wish it would CTD just to put me out of my misery. There’s a great game under here but I can’t get to it the way it is now.

Same issue here. Running FS24 on my Series S using mouse, keyboard and Thrusmaster HOTAS one. Mouse is spinning in circles when trying to use free look. Some of the HOTAS buttons also does get mapped and recognized.

Stessa cosa. Su Xbox serie x il mouse non può essere utilizzato per la vusuale libera. Impazzisce e non si può controllare. Bug inconcepibile su un software di questo livello. Su msfs 2020 funziona perfettamente.

Does your HOTAS One ever invert (down is up and up is down) in the pitch axis? I inverted mine on day one and it was fine, but since then something overrode it and it inverted again.

I cannot even get past the login to xbox arrow on Steam pc version. Mouse not rec9gnised. Actually 3 different mice not recognised. 2x corded and my regular Bluetooth mouse. Click on Play from Steam Lib, blach scn appears after short time, mouse pointer disappears as black scn appears and thats it. Cannot go forward can ot go back. Ctrl/altdel or reboot. This is madness.

Yeah, I had the same issue… Down is up and up is down. Throttle also worked the other way around. But I’ve managed to invert them, so all is good since then.

I have the exact same issues!
Xbox series x
Playing with mouse keyboard and hotas one.
In fs2020 everything worked perfectly fine.
Fs2024 recognizes all my stuff, but its messed up.

How exactly can i fix the problem with throttle “increase/decrease” flipped wrong, and the joystick “up” being joystick “down” and the other way?

I thought I’d give it a go on game pass before purchasing. Yep, I have the mouse free look problem too, it’s a problem for all of us, at least on Xbox. Why they changed the controller interface is beyond me, but likely for the demand of different profiles for different aircraft. My Turtle Beach yoke has up to 6 assignments to some buttons and trying to delete those is cumbersome. At one stage the sim stopped me deleting them and would freeze the cursor for up to 5 seconds, very frustrating. Literally took me 4 or 5 hours to get a usable configuration and then after doing a restart I lost it. The only good point was that the mouse and keyboard worked straight away. Also of note EVERY axis was reversed by default, EVERY ONE! Extremely frustrating. I also had the flaps in 2020 set to the outside upper throttle lever and it worked a treat, in 2024 it doesn’t recognise it as it is an axis and seems to just want to use buttons.

There is still the option to invert the axis, as painful as it is, just do that.

Where exactly do i found this option please?

I spent many hours this evening to try everything as it was in 2020, i am going crazy

Select the gear I think it is on the RH side of the selection / axis, it’s a blue box and that will take you to a page that has a selection to invert axis. It’s a sliding box.

I’m on PC and I feel your pain.

I have a nice little panel from WinWing which has a Landing Gear controller. I assign the gear up and gear down mappings, and it doesn’t work.

It has a nice little emergency brake handle. I bound it to “Parking Brake On” and “Parking Brake Off”. Does nothing in any of the planes I’ve tried.

I’ve got MFG Crosswind pedals with toe brakes. I assign that axis, but it thinks that neutral is the middle, and fully released for fully pressed means that I want brakes. Great, there’s a setting for that in the axis settings called “Neutral”. It doesn’t change the behavior at all.

I have a throttle where I’d really like to set a deadzone for the top 20%. There is an “extremities deadzone” setting, but it affects top and bottom.

I’m frustrated. I was really looking forward to career mode.

Did your hardware and bindings work on 2020? I just bought a PC today hoping it would be better but hearing this I might install 2020 when it arrives instead.

Settings, Settings general, Controls,
Device list chose ‘VeloCityOne Flight’
Flight Controls Surfaces, Primary control Surfaces, chose the axis you need and go to the setting icoon and at ‘Set inverted axis’ check it.

I am having the same behavior when trying to use my mouse for freelook, worked great in 2020, can’t get it to behave in 2024 yet. Was hoping someone had the magic setting in control bindings for this on XBox.
