To be able to fly around and land anywhere in the world (no plane obviously) but could be an interesting side experience in the sim in VR
You can do that already. Just use the translate down key until you are sitting below the aircraft. You can turn the aircraft sound off and it sounds like your by yourself.

If you do not want an airplane Google is a better option for this.

No. Not at all.
I do this often, just for fun. Not in a 747, but in the TBM for example. It‘s an absolutely incredible experience! Indeed makes me feel like Superman, roaming the blue yonder…
You can use the Showcase Drone camera mode for this. Been doing it for a while now, like this recording I made. I used the drone cam to simulate myself disembarking, then fly around checking out the airport and the terminals, and at the end of the video, do a FlyBy of Sydney cityscape.
