Does anyone know how much space the new update 1.26.5.0 needs? not enough disk space

Yes, this morning, after fixing my internet connection (that was another problem, now fixed) I’ve got ready to download the new update and I’ve found this:

I have at least 150GB for free y thats wy i ask how much space i need for this update.

Thanks.

No one knows?

It very much depends on your version, and what purchases you have made. I am up to 212gb here.

first, thanks for answering and second, with 212gb can you install the new version?

I’ve been wiping a small 250gb drive and got to 115gb free but nothing.

this is terrible!
I think the same thing happened with the previous update.

I have the basic package

If you wipe a 250 GB drive, you should have 250 GB minus whatever is
used for setup.

For a new install, my Deluxe edition requires this, 123 GB.

Looks likes it time to upgrade to that 5 TB dive I’ve been eyeing…

Install to a different drive and check how much space it is using. If it is using too much, then use the content manager to delete some stuff that you can do without. Once you have the size you want either rename the folder to stop MSFS deleting it or make a backup copy of it. Then uninstall MSFS totally. When you reinstall point at the 250gb drive then close the programme down. Copy what you have into the folder on the new drive. This should sort it for you.

There is also a way to move the MSFS folder. This would save you uninstalling it etc. It is not something I have done so cannot help there. There should be information online though.

MS Flight Simulator App “Move” command.

@TedStriker4104 It’s probably too late but double check that the path listed there is the actual path to the sim.

I hope that is not the mentioned 250GIG SSD . The OS + MSFS on a 250GIG SSD is may be not a good idea. And also if the correct path is set, I assume some temp space on C: drive is necessary.

PS: some of my USB-Sticks have more than 250Gig, time for an upgrade

What @MichaMMA states is worth listening to. You won’t fit windows and MSFS on one drive. Filling up the drive used for the OS is usually a bad idea.

I did not even notice it’s the C drive. I just saw 250gb and assumed a spare drive.

I actually had to uninstall it and reinstall it on another drive. Now everything is fine except the vfr map that doesn’t work but I have to try it without the community addons first

FS2020BMAP » Microsoft Flight Simulator - A free simple alternative to the in-game VFR.

for a map addon with a little more try Little Navmap User Manual — Little Navmap User Manual
