Does anyone know how to file a flight plan in MSFS 2024?

How to you file a flight plan in MSFS 2024 and send it to the avionics that goes to the autopilot? I just want something simple where I can just get into an aircraft and go. I tried creating a flight plan using the tablet on the left side of the aircraft but I don’t know what I’m doing. Do you send it to the avionics or what? Once you have it what button do you press for the autopilot in the cockpit to follow your route?

I have the same question. I would not be suprised if the answer is you need to manually enter it into the avionics because that what real pilots do.

Look at bottom of route page on the EFB.

But how do you find it in a G1000?

Good question and would love to know the answer, there was a guy doing a YouTube stream and looked like he was struggling too. I have tried a few times but no luck.

Assuming it transferred from the EFB, it should be seen by hitting the FLP button on the G1000. However, I have not tested this yet. It works fine in the Longitude.

In MSFS2024 aircraft have tablets specific to the aircraft on the left side or sometimes both sides of the aircraft. These contain flight plan info, weather, charts, weights, fuel, passenger, and other information.

There is also a generic EFB for all aircraft that contain flight plan info, weather, charts, weights, fuel, passenger, and other information. this EFB can send the flight plan information to ATC and to the aircraft avionics which should automatically link to the autopilot.

AFAIK if the EFB is not used to send the flight plan to the avionics, then it has to be manually entered.

The ability to “load and go” available for most aircraft in FS2020 is not in MSF2024 (Free Flight).

To load a flight plan from the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 online flight planner onto your Xbox, follow these steps:

  1. Create and Save Your Flight Plan Online:
  • Visit the Microsoft Flight Simulator Flight Planner.
  • Log in using the same Xbox account associated with your game.
  • Design your flight plan and save it.
  1. Access the Flight Plan in the Simulator:
  • Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on your Xbox.
  • Once in the cockpit, open the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) by selecting the EFB tool at the top of the screen.
  • Navigate to the flight plan application within the EFB.
  • Go to the ‘Route’ page and select ‘Load Flight Plan’.
  • Your saved flight plan should appear; select it to load.
  1. Send the Flight Plan to Avionics:
  • After loading the flight plan in the EFB, look for an option to ‘Send to Avionics’ or similar.
  • This action will transfer the flight plan to your aircraft’s navigation systems.

Hello everybody,
I have a question on how to load the flightplan into the MCDU of the A320 Neo.
When I create the Flightplan before flight in the World overview in EFB (doesnt matter if I do that via simbrief app, manually or import a pln file) and i say send route to avionics and file plan with ATC this plan with waypoints will not appear in the A320 MCDU. Also I do not see it in the pfd. I also tried sending the plan inflight to the avionics - no change.

For the 737 MAX it works. I can see the waypoints etc in the MCDU.
Is this a known bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

i know this was posted nearly a month ago but since this post they have brought out flight planner and its so worth it you can save the flight plan and it sends it straight to your efb all you have to do is press load flight plan and it will be sat there. i hope in the future they make it possible to go that step further withit and be able to track yourself on the flight planner / use it as an EFB so you do not have to take yourself away from the flight controls using cursor mode

When you save your EFB generated flightplan you are given the option to Save on PC. Where is the Save folder located? TIA.

For me, its saves in my downloads folder.

This has been answered in a different topic: EFB and iniBuilds airliners

Sounds like this is a design feature, not a bug.

Ah ok thanks…
But how to put the flightplan in the mcdu? Via mouse clicking? Looks like keyboard inputs do not work to type waypoints
