Does Reshade work on the Windows Store version?

I saw someone on the Steam version of MSFS had Reshade working with some interesting results. I wonder is it possible for those who own the Windows Store version to use Reshade?

Nope.

Which is a shame and not acceptable for a PC game at all. I can’t even force half refreshrate to make a smooth 30 FPS lock, the .exe won’t give me access to do anything.

Where did you see this? I would be interested to check it out.

I saw it on the steam forums for MSFS. Someone got it working and posted some screenshots.

Sorry…meant to reply directly to you. See my post above

You can use reshade by adding reshade filters in NVIDIA Freestyle and use them with any MSFS version (store or steam). IF you have nvidia card:

Did you follow the instruction from post above?
-Latest GeForce Experience
-Enable experimental features
? It should appear.

Yes, now it appears but the Application (FS2020) is not cpmpatible! Thats what it says!

Nvidia Filters are more powerful, easier and performance-loss free. No need for Reshade if you have an Nvidia card

You need to enable the Experimental features tick if it says that:

Not all of them are performance loss free, most of them are. NVIDIA freestyle has native support for Reshade shaders, so you can add them .

I did all of this, but FS2020 is not is not compatible. That’s what the overlay told me.
Pressing alt F3 i get the message that the app is not working with reshade! I don’t understand this!?!?

Well they’re either lying about reshade working or it does work on the Windows Store version, there’s no difference between the two versions except which digital store you use. I have mods installed on my Windows Store version.

The issue is Windows Store apps have extremely locked down permissions to folders and files causing things like ReShade to not have enough access to make modifications.

This is only partly true, the file structure of Windows Store apps was changed to allow mods in June 2020. You can access the files of Microsoft Flight Simulator just fine, I had to do so to put my liverie mod on.

You have to open geforce experience before you start the game.
