Multiple planes - load a flight plan from EFB to avionics, only the last few waypoints show, no magenta line. Try a direct to and it doesn’t draw the line and thinks the waypoint is always at a heading of 360 degrees. Try plugging in an approach procedure and hit load, then ok the GPS warning and it takes you right back to the load or activate screen. Happens on the 208 and DA42 and other g1000 planes.
Yes works great for me on C172
it works but the icon for the airplane is a flying saucer
Works OK for me in the 172,208, DA 40 & DA62. I also see the flying saucer icon for the aircraft, but that’s the only issue.
If it’s a VFR flight plan, check the plan details. The Flight Planner enforces a VFR Procedure Turn on departure and Vectors-To-Final on Approach - and the focus of the Flight Plan Page upon loading the avionics in-cockpit is on the VTR leg. I find the Magenta Line doesn’t appear until I delete the VTR leg or replace it with say a Visual Approach with Straight Transition. I’ve raised this before, but for some reason it can’t be easily reproduced.
I’m having issues if I try to load a flight from the Navigraph Simbrief EFB app. Only way I’ve been able to fix this is to re-install the Navigraph airac and reboot the sim and enter FP manually. Not sure if you are using Navigraph though.
It may also help to delete your rolling cache ccc file and the content.xml file from LocalCache.
This is most likely due to the “load order” of Navigraph’s AIRAC.
I’ve been in conversation with Navigraph on their forum over it. They are seeing similar issues and it sounds like it is an Asobo issue to fix.
However, there is a workaround — use the Package reorder tool (under Experimental options) to move Navigraph to the top of the list. Once you get it there, keep moving it to the top of the list to raise the number next to it to a really high number, I’ve got it up around 1100.
If I didn’t raise it that high, I’d have to launch the sim, open the tool, move Navigraph one place, move it back, quit the sim and relaunch to get the AIRAC to be recognized.
Once I kept moving it higher and higher I no longer have to do the launch, move, quit, launch routine to get it working.
See if that helps you.
Ah…I tried this, but I moved it all the way to the bottom…doh!
Thanks! I will try that next time. I’m also a bit concerned that the duplicate entries in the content.xml file might screw things up, so I’ve made it a habit to delete it every time before launching the sim.
It is a bit unintuitive. Top means it loads last and bottom means it loads first. Confusing, for sure!
In any case, the issues described here is the same I’ve experienced, so it’s most likely you have an issue with the airac @oellph9855. Whether its a package ordering issue or a corrupt/incompatible/conflicting file in the community folder. Are you using Navigraph as well?
I went to make a couple videos of the issue but can’t recreate it. But I’ve had it multiple times. It’s feels like it’s something to do with having an EFB plan, changing flights, the plan sticks around, and at some point Direct To, loading of approaches or the magenta line in general all breaking.
Hmm…maybe this is what’s happening to me as well, since it only happened when importing the flightplan from the Simbrief EFB app. The g1000 go into a bad state. I did try to fully clear the current plan using the MFD menu, but the issue persisted no matter if I tried adding a new flight plan manually or load any existing plans or from the fligth planner EFB. No magenta and no able to use direct to.
Sounds like it! Only a restart of the sim seems to help.
But is this a Navigraph issue or a general g1000 issue you think? I’m suspecting it’s Navigraph, as I never experienced this issue before I reactivated my subscription to Navigraph (as I’m using BATC).
I’m using the Navigraph airac data along with the avionics and EFB plugins, all of which are still in beta.
Same issue here, after loading flight plan in the world map screen, AP wouldn’t function, so reloaded flight plan via the EFB whilst in transit, and voila, AP started working and magenta line appeared. Obviously I’m doing something wrong in the EFB whilst in the map screen.
I did get from Bromma ESSB to Kungsängen ESSP. I lost AP tracking several times after STRUGGLING I finally got it to lock. After that that I lost the radio. After more STRUGGLE I locked on approach ILS. Touching ground, I could at least contact ground control. Looks like there are things to solve and I need an IFR course.
Had the same issue just now, without using the EFB at all
No way to recover…
EDIT: Happened when changing runway for departure. RWY18 is stuck on the map display even after clearing the entire flight plan. Selecting other runways will not help either.
For now, I’ve just removed the Navigraph airac and stick with the sim version as there must be an issue/conflict between the two. I had no success with the package reordering option.
So far, no issues using default airac and seems like loading plan from simbrief EFB also works.
Of course, there may be problems depending on airport, runways, sids or stars etc. if the default airacs data is outdated/incomplete
I switched over to the DA 40 NG and made an IFR flight plan ESSP-ESOW. It loaded into atc and the avionics but didn’t show on the GPS map. As I’m new, I have the markers in the air. It also showed on the upper left HUD. After five tries the NAV button worked. The FLC and VS buttons worked as supposed. When nearing the arrival, I switched to heading lock. After turning base with good distance, it finally locked to APP and GS and steadily I reached the threshold for a fair touchdown with strong headwind. This would not have worked with the Beech 350! That AP needs some rework!
I apologize for barging into this thread with a slightly unrelated question, but I am about to order the Realsimgear G1000 NXi suite and have just received a Flight Velocity panel that is cut for the G1000 but not pre drilled in the 4 corners for bolts/screws. Can you tell me how the G1000 panels mount? Do they use bolts that bolt through or does it use some form of cam system?
Thank you in advance
Ron
