Is there a keybind for Zoom in VR? panels can be hard to read in VR with frame generation.
I know RMB does kind of zoom in, but it is quite bugged, doesn’t always work, and the zoom depends on where you’re looking. Outside of the cockpit it zooms out?
Is there a bind to just simply zoom in a bit ? Ideally while holding the bind only.

VR COCKPIT FOCUS
In controls, warning though on some aircraft it zooms straight through the cockpit rendering it completely useless (where it works fine in MSFS2020)

In 2020 I always remove the mouse binding and set it to a key or button. In my very strong opinion, it does not belong on a mouse binding. For instance, you should be able to zoom in to look at something without having to take hands off of flight controls.
However, there are some bugs in that they expect you to be using it with a mouse, so it can require a mouse movement to release.
I haven’t tried in 2024 yet given VR interaction is so messy. I just haven’t enjoyed flying in 2024 VR as much despite the improved visuals and performance.

thanks, it works a little better than RMB, but still often bugs out and stops working…
It’s much better that way until it gets stuck and requires a mouse jiggle to release.
We could make a bug report but probably only 3 of us would vote on it.
I made a bug report. It’s bothered me for years in 2020.
VR Focus Gets Stuck - Bug Reporting Hub / Virtual Reality (VR) - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
The solution could be as simple as having a separate VR Zoom in addition to VR Focus. If so, the focus should always lock and the binding just toggle. That combo would be 10,000x better than what we have now.
I find it works well in the C152 but tried the DA40NG today and it didnt work at all.
Have submitted a bug report to the Zendesk.
Guess when the “stuck” scenario started, yep SU7 when they completely broke mouse usage in VR and have since not fixed everything they broke, so bad it’s carried over to 2024, so don’t get your hopes up anything will be fixed.

Think about it.
This sim is partnered with pimax.
It is not designed for VRHMDs that are blurry due to frame generation. lol
I have PICO4, so I can’t see it clearly, so I need to right-click the mouse to zoom in 2020, but there are some Aircraft that can do it in 2024 and some that can’t. Basically, this game doesn’t seem to place much importance on VR.
BTW I since figured out that the RMB is not even a zoom, it simply shifts your viewpoint slightly forward. That mean that while it helps with seeing MFD screens and instruments, it does nothing to help you see the outside world. The combat flight sim has 2 levels of VR zoom that are very helpful.
Not only that, but developers also have to code for it, which makes it inconsistent and buggy. I think it works more like a preset camera view.
Just a simple zoom feature would be so nice and ditch VR focus!
I’ve resorted to just use a hat switch for camera translation. But that’s at a cost of being able to use it for a more traditional trim binding.
I think that’s more Pimax putting their foot in the door. I admire them for trying!
