As the title asks, does the YD on the autopilot supposed to move the rudder trimmer?
Generally No. The YD moves the rudder itself. Depending on the airframe, the YD can be a standalone system or integrated into the autoflight system.
On airframes with mulitple rudders i.e. 747, it only operates on one of the rudders.

ok thanks. i was trying to see if the YD was working in the addon and didn’t see any rudder trim movement so wasn’t sure
A good test would be to fly a spept wing A/C with YD turned off. Put the A/C into a dutch roll (if sumulated) & turn the YD on. The dutch roll should stop in about 2 oscillations. This was part of the 747 & L1011 test flights that I used to be on. Very intersting to watch.
