This should be pretty severe right? but in sim, live weather, there is hardly any turbulence or anything. windows store. not sure if this is su6 specific or not, but posted here since that’s what I’m running.
A couple issues to consider here:
- Live Weather doesn’t recreate individual local storms that will match 1:1 with real life. The Live Weather model doesn’t work with this kind of fidelity or resolution as it’s a short term forecast with a 30km grid spacing. At best, regional conditions should resemble real life, ie there are storms or rain in the same regional area as in real life.
- Unless it was added back in the past several months while I was away, severe turbulence in convection has been missing for a long, long time. So even if the sim correctly placed a storm that matched real life, it would feel pretty benign to fly through it.
The first issue is a limitation that we’ll just have to live with probably. The second issue could definitely be addressed, and we’ve been asking for it for years.
