Driver issues with X52 Professional under windows 11

Symptoms: Neither Steam or MSFS see the X52 professional HOTAS. It was working, but a year later, it does not.

In device manager, the two X52 Professional entries (HID & USB) both show logitech driver 8.0.121.0.

So I try to install the latest driver 8.0.150.0 2018-04-13. I disconnect the X52, extract the download with 7-zip, then manually try an update driver from device manager. Seems to work ok. It prompts for the X52 to get plugged in. I do that, the installer sees it, and the installer finishes off apparently cleanly. BUT device manager still sees 8.0.121.0, and still nothing works.

So I try this: disconnect X52, Uninstall Device off device manager, and reboot.
Then I repeat .150 install (using update driver), but it behaves as above…but same version .121 in device manager.

If I try UpdateDriver off device manager and point it at the 150 drivers directory, it says “The best drivers for your device are already installed”

Maybe relevant from the event logs:

Device settings for HID\VID_06A3&PID_0762\6&204c1b38&5&0000 were not migrated from previous OS installation due to partial or ambiguous device match.

Am I missing something??? Any help welcome.

Latest driver version for the X52 Pro is 8.0.213.0 (dated 2018-09-24), not 8.0.150.0.
I recommend disconnecting your PC from the internet, then uninstalling the X52 and its driver. After that, restart your PC. Once it’s restarted, download the driver version 8.0.213.0 and install it. After installation, restart your PC again. If everything works fine, you can reconnect your PC to the internet.

Thanks so much for your quick response.
Sadly, I had no joy, though I had to read between the lines a little with the directions. Can you see any issue with this sequence:

  1. Downloaded 8.0.213, and used 7-zip to expand it
  2. X52 Hotas remains connected throughout this process
  3. Break internet coms (disable wifi)
  4. Using program manager, uninstall X52
  5. Using Device Manager, ensure no “X52 Professional HOTAS devices”, using “uninstall devices” if necessary
  6. Restart PC (remains offline)
  7. After restart, there are no entries in device manager for X52
  8. Using the 8.0.213.0 driver subdirectory, run the exe to load the driver.
  9. Apparently installs OK (after a few minutes, maybe waiting on internet?)
  10. Entries now appear in device manager, but both are still at v121
  11. Restart PC, and re-enable wifi, but without change.
