Hello everyone, I first bought the game digitally and started the download. this has risen permanently so I got the box version. the installation of the cd worked but now I should reload 80GB at the start. I can also start the game without a CD. but without wifi I should connect to the Xbox account. something is wrong here. does anyone have experience with this? I already used a restart and netlimiter.
Well, the DVD version was created with the first version of the sim. Now we’re at World Update IV, and Sim Update IV. That’s 8 major updates between the first version that was burned into the disc and the current version.
So whether you install the DVD version, if all of these updates are practically replaces almost all the files from the DVD version, then technically, it’s the same as downloading the entire game.
This was the concern I had from the beginning. Owning the DVD version is good for collection purposes, but as a working installation, I already predicted that the DVD version will be outdated fairly quickly after a few major updates.
You can’t fly the sim completely offline. You need internet, because MSFS is a software as a service. Meaning you need to constantly connect to the internet to validate the DRM, as well as multiplayer and online Bing Data for the textures. Even if you turn them off, you still need to connect to the internet to be able to use MSFS. And that means, you need to keep logging into your Microsoft/Xbox account.

thanks for the post. can you show me a solution, how it works, that i’m not in the loop in the download?
I don’t know. I never got the downloading loop issue myself. All I did was to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows, then I’m on Steam Version, so I install the launcher from Steam, then I run MSFS and I just login to my Microsoft/Xbox Account and it just downloads the entire 80 GB game files straightaway into the default folder, once it’s finished, I can start flying.

The Problem that i found is Simply.
The Wifi Connection was the reason for the loop.
After i used the LAN Connection, the Launcher downloaded all the needed Updates.
