ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Dynamic Frame Generation behaves inconsistently. I’m using a 165 Hz G‑Sync monitor and previously ran FG at a stable x3 multiplier. After testing the new Dynamic FG introduced in SU6 - using the DLSS overlay in DevMode to monitor the active multiplier - I’m seeing unpredictable behaviour.
The FG multiplier appears to be assigned randomly and does not adjust while the sim remains in focus. DevMode FPS consistently reports ~160 FPS after FG, but the multiplier used to reach that number varies dramatically, sometimes going as high as x6. Each time I Alt‑Tab or press the Windows key to switch out of the sim and return, the multiplier changes again.
Observed results:
-
Initial load: 26 × 6
-
Alt‑Tab → return: 32 × 5
-
Alt‑Tab → return: 53 × 3
-
Alt‑Tab → return: 39 × 4
With FG disabled, my system produces 80 native FPS in the exact same scenario. This raises two concerns:
-
Why does Dynamic FG select such aggressive and seemingly arbitrary base FPS values (e.g., 26 FPS) when the hardware is clearly capable of higher native performance?
-
Why does the multiplier change every time the sim loses and regains focus?
Based on my native 80 FPS, expected behaviour would be multipliers like 80×2 or 53×3 - not 26×6.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
Every session; occurs consistently.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
- Enable Dynamic Frame Generation.
- Enable the DLSS overlay in DevMode to display the active FG multiplier.
- Alt‑Tab out of the sim and return.
- Observe that the multiplier changes unpredictably and often selects unnecessarily high multipliers relative to the system’s native performance.
