Ec135

Is the EC135 out already? According to Insta it is, but I don’t see it…

Yep, just took a test flight.

It’s not in the marketplace, but when I did a free flight and looked in the Helicopter category, it was just there.

Same here. Announcement on Facebook

What is your first impression?

-Disregard-

Strange, it is still not for me.

Try to search for it?

First impressions:

Awful sounds - nothing like a real EC135, no change with rotor RPM and it sounds like the engines are idling all the time.

Weird Ground Behaviour - No flex in the skids and it feels like they’re glued to the ground, no gentle transition into a hover as the friction reduces and the helicopter lifts off.

Engine/Rotor Modelling is weird - setting both engine control switches to idle makes very little difference to the helicopters ability to fly… you can pull 100% collective and climb to your hearts content. Also, rotor does not overspeed even when dumping the collective and dropping like a stone.

Twin Engine Modelling is Wrong - setting either engine control switch to idle with the other in ‘Flight’ then back to ‘Flight’ does not result in that engine coming back up to speed and sharing the torque with the other engine.

Flight modelling feels weird - some quite strong yaw coupling effects as you move the cyclic, not sure about that. Tail rotor is also incredibly sensitive.

Most minor of all, is there doesn’t seem to be any difference in exterior model across the variants. No FLIR Cameras, Winches, WSPS or anything. Just a vanilla EC135.

I really wanted to like this and see a well made representation of it in the game, but I’m afraid I’ll be shelving it after a few quick test flights. It doesn’t have the fidelity to appease the ‘Study Level’ crowd and it’s far too sensitive to be enjoyed by the more casual gamer (without assists, at least), I’m not sure who’s going to enjoy this one.

I don’t see it anywhere. But I haven’t seen the SU3 update yet either. Maybe they roll out together?

Who’s the dev?

Wow, I don’t really like products from Nemeth but thanks for the gift, but .. why ? Is it part of the 4 apologies aircraft gifted by Microsoft for the november ““““launch””””?

I’ve flown helicopters in flight sims for years and years.

This helicopter feels terrible.

  1. The sounds are just not correct for an EC135, it sounds like its using the default helicopter sounds from the H125?

  2. There 3D model feels very basic and lacking any real depth in texturing etc

  3. The tail rotor is waaay too sensitive for an EC135 its almost impossible to keep it straight due to this.

  4. The flight model feels weird and does not feel like a helicopter at all

If you compare this to Toag’s helicopters its like night and day.

I do not believe 3 EC135 Pilots signed off on this flight model, on the visuals maybe? But no way is this even close to a real EC135.

This helicopter is not that far away from being MScenery levels of rubbish with their helicopters. Its laughably bad.

I’ve never used a Nemeth Design Product before but this helicopter is a terrible advertisement for them and I’ll stay way clear of any payware products they produce in the future.

I noticed the exact same thing, the terrible sounds, the engine that doesn't change rpm when you put it in flight mode.
But it's only the first day.... let's hope they improve it to make it at least almost as good as the EC135 from Microsoft Flight Sim 2020.

Strange flight model. If I give it a bit of left cyclic, there is a very strong right yaw. Anyone else see that?

I noticed a defect in the windshield glass, a defect also present on another Nemeth Design product.
There are scratches that I believe aren’t just a texture effect but are present in the 3D model.
Basically, when I look out the windshield, I see something blurry, and the closer I get to the glass, the more it becomes blurry.
I notice this more in VR and it’s extremely annoying because I feel like I’m nearsighted, and when I move my head, it’s extremely annoying when I get close to the glass.
It’s like looking out of frosted glass.
I reported this to Nemeth Design regarding the other product, and they said it depends on my VR headset…
It’s strange that it only happens with their products. Should I start thinking my HP Reverb G2 hates Nemeth Design? Anyway, the defect is noticeable even with a 2D screen.
