EFB entirely shuts off C172 electrical when using Add Waypoint

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
While flying, trying to use the EFB’s Route → Add Waypoint function, then cancelling searching for an entry causes EVERY electrical system in the plane to turn off. Requires no interaction with the plane itself. Just mess with the EFB and pow your plane shuts down.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Cessna 172 G1000

Yes. I have no mods.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Be in flight with AP on in HDG and ALT mode.
  2. Interact with your EFB.
  3. Open the Flight Planner.
  4. Open the Route function.
  5. Click on Add Waypoint.
  6. Type anything at all, or even nothing at all, into the text field.
  7. Click on the “X” to the right of the text field to cancel the entry.
  8. Watch in horror as your plane turns itself off mid-flight.
  9. The Master and Alternator switches flip to off. All of the exterior light switches flip to off.

• Additional note: if you interact with the Cruise Altitude in the upper right corner, then click away from that text field, it also shuts off the entire electronic system.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

  • When flying in the C172 G1000 on an IFR flight plan
  • Open the Communication panel
  • Click the button that pops the panel out into a separate window
  • Make the Communication pop-out window your active window
  • Alt-TAB to another window, such as a web browser
  • The Master BAT and ALT switches will turn OFF
  • All of your light switches will also flip to the OFF position
