EFB moving map either flickering (2D+VR) or completely blank in all aircraft

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: EFB moving map flickering constantly or its either blank screen. From what I can gather this is a known issue for MSFS 2024

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: All aircraft with a EFB moving map

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE Consistently every time

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

• Yes - fly in VR only. 100% of maps flicker badly making them useless

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Sometimes the EFB starts to flicker (see videos below). I first noticed it in VR, but it also seem to happen when not in VR. Tried varios things, like different aircraft, GPU drivers, settings (FG off/on, DLSS off/on), even different DLSS dlls with DLSS swapper. But no luck. No mods in community folder.

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

intermittent, sometimes zooming the efb map in and out or shorly looking away from the efb seems to stop it

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. start a flight, but can also happen outside a flight, just in menus where the EFB is accessible, but seems to happen more often when starting a flight

  2. look at EFB Map

  3. zoom in and out, or move it around

Can confirm, started in .17 beta

So, it seems for me that this is an driver issue. Went back to the 591.74 driver and flew now 3 missions without the EFB map starting to flicker. And with all my addons and the 310.5.3 DLSS dlls.
Performance also seems to be a couple frames better.

Fingers crossed it stays like that. :crossed_fingers:

Well, today it happened again, so not an driver issue. :frowning:

Yes, not a driver issue, went back to 25.12.1 and the same happened.

i have had the same issue. I fly exclusively in VR

Still an issue in the SU5 release version.

Same thing happening to me since SU5. Extreme flickering that comes and goes. Seems to happen when I am following a flightplan between 2 airports. If I just load a flight with no destination airport the flickering doesn’t present itself.

I’ve been experiencing the flickering EFB since the release of SU5 too.

I only fly in VR (BSB) and also have a 7800x3d and 4090. I’ve tried reinstalling MSFS24 but it still keeps flickering.
