I’ve tried this method on Xbox and the Efb is now working properly with the controller.

Ok, I am on a custom profile. The COCKPIT INTERACTION - PRIMARY ACTION is bound to A on my controller after being unbound for some reason. I can use my EFB in the Cessna 172 window mount. That works fine.

However, I can’t use the cursor through the toolbar EFB button or the button shortcut. Those two are still inop, and are my primary means usage on other planes that don’t have an in cockpit EFB mount.

All of this was tested on SU3 Beta 1.5.8.0

This control is bound to both my original custom preset (which doesn’t work) and the new one based on the post-SU2 default preset (which does work) so I’m not sure that’s the culprit.

Yes, I can confirm. And the exact same binding behaves differently between controller profiles that I created before SU2 (doesn’t work) and new profiles created after SU2 (functions as a workaround). FWIW I noticed other discrepancies when viewing new and old profiles, such as the menu “Unbind” and “More Info” buttons have flipped, and the in-game behavior of “Next Instrument View” is different with the exact same assignments. This leads me to believe that something fundamental has changed in the Controller Presets architecture for this platform after SU2.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: EFB in Map Screen or in the Cockpit is Unclickable on XBox because Cursor Mode is unavailable. So when in the Map screen on XBox, the EFB can be loaded, but it is unclickable. This also hold true when toggling on the EFB in the cockpit of every aircraft that I load in free flight.

The only thing that can be done is to toggle off the EFB using the Left Bumper combo. This has happened on my XBox through SU2 and SU3.

Important Note! It has nothing to do with my controller settings either because I set all controller settings back to the default gamepad. It made no difference. The EFB is still unclickable. Cursor Mode cannot be turned on either.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: I have had this problem in every aircraft I try from the 172, the 208 to the 737 Max.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? This occurs in Sim Update 2 and 3 on XBox Series X.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? It occurs all of the time after loading the EFB via the Left Bumper Combo to pop it up.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Select Free Flight from the Main Menu in Flight Simulator 2024 SU3 on XBox.
  2. When viewing the Map Screen, toggle on the EFB, the EFB will load, but it is unclickable. The D-Pad, Left Joystick and Right Joystick do not work. There is no way to select an option. There is no cursor available, nor is it possible to get a cursor. Nothing can be highlighted or clicked. This has been the case for both SU2 and SU3.
  3. Additionally, Start the Flight with any aircraft on XBox Series X and from the cockpit view, toggle on the EFB, the EFB will load, but it is unclickable. The D-Pad, Left Joystick and Right Joystick do not work. There is no way to select an option. There is no cursor available, nor is it possible to bring up a cursor. Nothing can be highlighted or clicked. This has been the case for both SU2 and SU3.
