EGMH - Manston Airport in Kent was formerly an available spawn point in the sim, the airport is also still modelled in the sim but the lights no longer turn on at night (except the green airport locator beacon). After the most recent update the spawn point has been removed - Why?
This was a very popular airport for people wanting to fly into London or for a quick hop over to Europe.
Whilst in real life this airport is closed, it is being re-developed with a view to being opened again in late 2023.
Please reverse the changes that were made and bring back Manston as an available spawn airport!

This is a hugely disappointing result. Manston is a unique airport, with both historical heritage and an aspirational future with a huge interest in keeping it alive. Many pilots were using it before the update and now it seems to have disappeared off the map making it impossible to fly there unless you start from somewhere else. There seems to be no good reason for this - what benefit is there in it being removed? The community wants to see the airport back and fully operational. Please reinstate Manston at your earliest convenience - support your pilot community.
Snap gutted it is real world , the airport is still there but no atc or lighting , also the plan to re open as freight hub has been rejected as not realistic after pandemic , hope this is reversed again and it reopens in some form , my childhood watching hunters from RAF and invictor airways commercial !
My point is that it disappeared from the new update and is useful in the Kent area for flying, especially as it was a major World War II airdrome. Certainly some of it was being used as a lorry park but this was temporary and there are plans afoot to reopen initially for freight and possibly the reintroduction of Kent International Airport. There are helicopter operations on the airdrome. The removal leaves only Grass strips in the whole of East Kent and Thanet in the sim when it has use for emergency landings.
I noticed this yesterday and thought I was going mad, as I’d used Manston a few times previously as a useful base to explore the area.
To investigate I took a Cessna up from Lydd and flew up the coast, the airport is still fully there but not “selectable”. SUrely to make it realistic they would have large X’s painted on the runway to indicate it’s now closed.
In fact I’ve not had much luck with missing airports lately. A few days ago I tried doing some short European hops in the A320 and noticed Stuttgart missing.
I too flew over it and it is there. Does anyone know how you can mark the airport as say a POI or something so you can use it? I live in Kent and part of the fun was to hop over the Channel. Manston is the only runnway in the whole of South East Kent capable of landing a largish jet on neaest is Lydd or London City - think of all that fuel!

Unfortunately, the airport is closed in real life. Just as Meigs Field, an important part of Flight Simulator history, closed many decades ago and no longer exists in the sim, a decision was taken to remove this airport to keep MSFS current.
