Hi @MartThe2n and @KougatCreator99
I have performed the sequence proposed by you two for “Disable Startup Sound” in MSFS on Oct´20, and it does not work for me. After a bit of research, I have succeeded using this sequence:
Steam -->Home -->Microsoft Flight Simulator -->Properties -->GENERAL → FastLaunch, but I can’t enter the message with an “OK”, as you can see in the image sent. What am I doing wrong.
I am waiting for your answers.

You want “-FastLaunch”, and then just close the window. No need to “save” or “apply” it.
Hi @akfouronesis
I cannot leave the page, if I do so, the order I have given will not be registered in “the Sim”. That is what happens. Anyway, I have already exited, but to load the Sim, I can only do it by clicking on MSFS. It loaded but… the sound was still activated.

I’m not sure what you’re doing wrong, if anything, but what akfouronesix wrote is 100% correct.
Make sure to write “-FastLaunch” exactly like this, without the double-quotes.
Hi @hendis55
What akfouronesix wrote could be correct if the cover page I wrote “FastLaunch” was exactly identical to the one written by “MartThe2n” in the post titled "Disable Startup Sound" in MSFS on Oct’20 (Post #6/16). But it is not. Please verify it. The other cover besides the “-FastLaunch” command, has at the bottom the annotations: “OK and Cancel”. Mine does not have this annotation as you can verify in my post. If I cannot validate the “-FastLaunch” command with an OK, that command does not enter the Sim, and consequently, the Sim cannot execute it, which is exactly what is happening. As for your doubt if my FastLaunch, is correctly written, you can also verify it, it is two paragraphs above your post the image that contains that order: FastLaunch.
Please make these verifications, and I would also ask you to do the sequence that I did to introduce the command “-FastLaunch” in the cover page that appears (at the end of the mentioned sequence). I have the suspicion, that my sequence is not correct, but the one that the previous colleagues indicated to me, does not take me to the end to introduce the mentioned order.
My sequence was this: Steam → Home -->Microsoft Flight Simulator -->Properties -->GENERAL → -FastLaunch, but I can’t enter the message with an “OK”, as you can see in the image sent.
Thanks for your reply.

I believe this is the post you referring to.
The Steam user interface has been updated since that post. There is no longer an Apply or Cancel button. You are just missing the “-” in your command.
@Akfouronesix
I had already tried it, it also does not work as you can see in the image

Hi @Akfouronesix
I am still waiting for your answers, and above all, we have to verify that the sequence I have used works now after the Steam UI update as you have written to me.
The sequence I have used is:
Steam -->Home -->Microsoft Flight Simulator -->Properties -->GENERAL → "-FastLaunch,
Please try it on your PC. With the game loaded, it doesn’t take more than 20 seconds. Only this way, we will get out of doubt, especially me, who has a real interest in eliminating this annoying melody.
NOTE: I bought my MSFS on Steam
I look forward to your reply. Thanks in advance:

The launch option “-FastLaunch” will skip the logo splash screens and video intro.
I have the Steam version and use the -FastLaunch launch option. I do not see any logo screens or the intro video, nor do I hear any music on the loading screen.
I am unsure how I can help any further.
Hi @Akfouronesix
Well, it is very simple:
Writing me exactly the sequence you follow (step by step) to get that result. I have written it several times, but I don’t get anything, so I beg you to write exactly that sequence.
It is very clear that we are using different sequences. The one that you follow (and that actually works correctly), presents a page (GENERAL), in which you enter the command “-FastLaunch”, and in that same page, in the lower part, appears “OK” and “Cancel”. For the command to be executed, you have to enter it with an OK.
Please read my post in this same thread, post (8/10) and you will see that that GENERAL page, does not have the OK. Consequently, I cannot enter that command.
It is evident that my sequence already several times repeated in this thread, is different from the one you use, otherwise, the result should be identical, and it is not.
I am sorry that something as simple as this has been so complicated for me. I apologize for that.
Let’s see if finally, your answer is the definitive one and that it works, if so, it would end this annoying melody that after listening to it hundreds of times, it is annoying. I am really surprised that Asobo has not included a key for this function to enable/disable sound, as they had done in FSX which was the letter “Q”.
Kind regards: Delfin
Hi @akfouronesix
Could you please tell me how to link a word (as you do here with “this”, to a topic, post, etc.". It is very interesting and a great saving of work, and I do not know how to do it.
Thanks in advance.
Regards: Delfin
Simply mark a word(s) in your post and then click on the chainlink icon left next to the quotationmark icon. A window pops up where the first line is blank (there your link adress goes) and the second line shows the selcted word(s) where the link from the first line is applied to.
Regarding the “-Fastlaunch”: this only disables the videos during sim start up - it does NOT disable the sound during sim start up.
First off, no need to apologize.
Secondly, I am almost certain that we are using the same method to input the “-FastLaunch” command.
Here is what the page looks like when I right click on Flight Simulator in Steam and select Properties:
I do not have an Accept, Okay, Apply or Cancel button on the General page.
I have read this post as well as your original post. From my understanding, per your original thread, using the -FastLaunch command solved your issues. If you are not seeing startup logos for Asobo/XGS/Blackshark etc, then it is working as intended.
I also have in-game music turned off.
To inset hyperlinks on the forums here, press CTRL + K or select the chain link icon from the menu above the text box, it should be pretty straightforward from there.
Hope that helps.
Hi @SpottedAxis7643,
You can insert a link using the link icon I circled in this image:
Or you can type it:
[Name of your Link](https://flightsimulator.com)

I want to do exactly this
Could you tell me how to link a word (as you do here with “this”, to a topic, post, etc.)? It is very interesting and a great labor saving, and I don’t know how to do it. .
You can use that link icon and then type in the subject/title of the topic to locate it. That field will auto populate as you type.
Then for a “name”, replace it with what you want, like the word: this
this
Clicking on “this” above, takes you to your topic as that is what I selected for the link.

Hi Hester40MT
Truthfully, this has never happened to me on any forum before. You are like my “guardian angel” in this forum. As soon as I want to do something unknown (which I have never done, and which I intend to do, moreover in a language I do not master, and …moreover with a series of icons, etc. which are initially unknown to me), things become extraordinarily complicated. But as soon as I start experimenting and testing, if something goes wrong (and the first time, it usually goes wrong), and when this happens, there is my guardian angel Erik intervening and shedding light in this tunnel of my ignorance.
When things have been done hundreds of times, one forgets how difficult it can be the first time; that has happened to Akfouronesix, and previously to another colleague whose phraseology was even more incomprehensible to me. I see that you are a good pedagogue and I am sure you will understand.
I think I have understood it, otherwise, you will be hovering over my mistakes; I hope this one is not.
Thank you infinite Erik, I see that you have a remarkable sensitivity to perceive the difficulties of the people in this Forum. I really, really appreciate it.
In any case, this may not be the last time you will intervene again in the face of my future difficulties. In advance: a thousand thanks for your dedication and meticulous effort.
Kind regards: Delfin

No, the image you show again does not allow to remove the sound with the “-FastLaund” command (at least on my computer). I did it following the instructions of : 1º) Hester40MT, and 2º), those of Alfye20 with this " image " that you can see. The sound I removed it in General Options, SOUND → music= 0
