Engines and Plane System Shuts Down Mid Flight

Since the release of MSFS2024 ive had this issue about 7-8 times. ive reinstallled the sim 2 times and no effect. Basically the issues ive been having is mid flight ill hear the sound from windows when you disconnect a USB and then the sound when you reconnect a USB. Only thing is I havent disconnected anything. Thn after the sounds play the engines roll back and the planes system shuts down. Ive checked Event Viewer to see if theres any disconnections or not but theres nothing there either. im not sure why this is happening now because if im not disconnecting and ive made sure my USB’s are plugged in full then nothing should happen.

PC Specs : 4070ti super, i9-13900K, 32 GB RAM.

Do you have all of your USB devices set up to not go to sleep?

I have found when I am using a second screen and click back to my main screen sometimes the fuel valve closes (I am only using the Cessna172). I just assume my co-pilot kicked it or something so I re-open and re-start the magnetos and it’s good to go. Maybe check that if that is the plane you are in.

I did have them set to go to sleep by accident. i just turned that off and ill reply here again if it happens. Hope this works!

what do you mean by set to go to sleep. the device itself or in the windows settings?

Windows settings for all connected USB devices.

Having issues with the DA62. I taxi, take off and within 2 minutes engine shuts off. I have full fuel tanks, no maint needed. I flip the master power off, turn it back on engine runs for a few secs, shuts off again and repeat.

If you’re not using a powered USB hub, it makes sense to check its power consumption. The peak current you can draw from an onboard USB port can be problematic. Your peripherals may draw more at some moments, and whilst the controller shuts down the port temporarily to avoid over-current. You may see some flickers on your yoke or flight stick lights.
One way out of it is to install an additional USB card on a free PCI slot. it help when you connect several devices to the PC, especially when some of them draw more power (i.e. force feedback yokes, etc).
Also check the USB port type and bandwidth, normally your controllers don’t use too much of it, but if you use it for high bandwidth applications (VR streaming with USB cable, or USB to HDMI active display hubs for additional monitors on your rig (my case)

That happens on Xbox as well
