Voted, required for Hardware Use
As a Cockpit builder, Sim Enthusiast and Fan of MSFS2020, please support us, and the Hardware MFG so we take full advantage of your wonderful Flight Simulation. I want desperately to enjoy my Flight Experience in this Sim but without an easy way to enable my REALSIMGEAR hardware I am dead in the water. Please Asobo/MS helps us out here.https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/620381288993390612/871387107468410890/image0.jpg?width=976&height=1302
Yes, i also want that API. ![]()
Is this what MS/Asobo meant (legit question) when they said.. “the same sim for all”.
ie. if xbox can’t have it, then PC users can’t have it and we get the same nerfed, limited version.

I voted for the API, it’s really needed.
What if if you could just get xboxes for your wrap-around visuals once multi-monitor support is added?
So while I dont know whether we need another thread to vote for THAT to make the developers see our world a bit better, the fact the full sim runs on XBOX is not the stupidest idea for many reasons.
Yeah and what if PC folks could just use their ‘high’ spec’d 2nd and 3rd networked PC’s, like we’ve always been able to do.
Not forgeting the API.
Wish I had seen this earlier. 100% we need reliable access to all those events and variables we can see but can’t use currently.
This stuff is way more important than fancy new features right now. Just concentrate on improving what’s already there
Voted.
Thanks to everyone for upvoting this - we reached 500 votes in such a short time - a couple more and we are on the 1st page of the wish list - SPREAD THE WORD!
The SPAD.neXt community is constantly being “bombarded” with it …
Maybe add it to your download installer for MobiFlight
that it prompts them to go vote…
that’s actually an idea!
Voted, and I’m not even a cockpit builder. ![]()
I only have the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo units combined with Virpil rudder pedals, but I have recently installed SPAD.neXt because I wanted the extended control and automatic profile switching that it offers.
However, it can be quite frustrating at times to try to guess what all those events and variables from various sources do when looking for specific controls in specific planes.
And often I find that I can’t do exactly what I want. E.g., I can control the inertial separator in the TBM, but the switch doesn’t animate in the sim.
It would be wonderful if everything was exposed in a standardized, transparent and (to me) logical way for every plane, be it standard or add-on.
EDIT: I see that Les O’Reilly is also here and would like to thank him for all his SPAD.neXt videos on YouTube. Without them, the learning curve would have been much steeper. Cheers, mate. ![]()
Absolutely required to get control over future developments in MSFS. This update showed what unpleasant surprises we can expect if this is not solved. Thanks for the good work!
look out for the next Mobiflight update (open source), we have added Joystick support now (available already as beta) and profile switching is on the todo list.
Upvote from myself.
You can apply a workaround to get the in-sim switch to work, see my blog post at Adding workarounds to MSFS2020 for MobiFlight – Bad Casserole. Sucks we have to do stuff like this, but until Asobo addresses this request at least it’s a way to get it working.
I voted. I hope the open up access more for cockpit builders.
this is DEFINITELY a must do, Asobo/microsoft. You have got to allow more access and control for programmers willing and able to do detailed work.
Thanks for the heads-up, but I have more than enough on my hands learning how to use SPAD.neXt, and it’s only a minor inconvenience for me to use the mouse for some of the switches until a general solution is available. I’m not a cockpit builder and will probably always have to resort to using the mouse for some operations.
Using the mouse breaks the immersion for many of us which is why so many support this. I personally don’t use the virtual cockpit at all and I am therefore very dependent on external displays and controls and for that we need an API that supports this.
