"Enter aircraft" button doesn't work if clicked with the mouse

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

If I try to enter the aircraft just clicking on the available button (“Enter aircraft”) with the mouse nothing happens. The other buttons available there (like Toggle EFB) works perfectly if clicked on with the mouse

It happens with any aircraft as it is a UI bug

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every time

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Start a free flight
  2. When the sim show the “Enter aircraft” button click on it with the mouse
  3. Nothing happens (only the 2024 keyboard assignment works for that action)

Hi @erasam ,

Thank you for this report. We’ve moved your topic into the User Support Hub.

The Bug Reporting Hub is for posting suspected or confirmed bugs that other users are able to reproduce without duplicating an existing bug report. Using the template or providing all the relevant information about your bug and sim setup is required in order to provide valuable information, feedback, and replication steps to our test team.

If you are not sure if your issue is a bug or need further input from the community, please use the User Support Hub category. If the community can replicate your issue, first search the Bug category to see if there’s an existing topic. If it already exists, contribute to that report. Duplicate bug reports will be closed.

If you believe it is a new report and no duplicate exists, then create a new bug topic using the provided topic template.

All issues caused by or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. Assure that no addons/mods are used when reporting issues in Bug Reports.

Your topic has been moved to the User Support Hub because the aircraft you are reporting is a 3rd party addon. As indicated above:

Hi

sorry for that, I just used for reporting the issue the aircraft I previously selected for a free flight

The issue is affecting any aircraft, regardless if it is a core or a third-party one: I don’t think it is so relevant the aircraft shown in the picture as this is a UI issue but as you asked for it…

Just click on “Enter aircraft” to easily reproduce it

Just tested with the C152 and you are right, clicking on “Enter aircraft” has no effect whereas clicking on “Toggle EFB” & “Toggle visual assists” triggers the corresponding functionality.
You can create a new bug report, using the template (don’t delete any sections) and use as example a 1st party aircraft. Thank you !

Same problem: Enter aircraft button doesn’t work when trying to enter the Cessna Citation CJ4. Shift + C keyboard command doesn’t work either. Cannot enter aircraft. This is fairly recent. A few weeks ago the Shift + C worked and there wasn’t any button to enter aircraft. It wasn’t broke. Why did you “fix” it? No problem with the Beech Baron 58.

Just checked my AzurPoly Jaguar.
Clicking on ‘Enter’ does nothing, but Shift+C works.

MS-Store - SU2

This is an easily reproducible bug.

See existing report based on a 1st party aircraft: "Enter aircraft" doesn't work if clicked with the mouse

I had the same problem trying to get into the Cessna Citation CJ4. In the camera settings, check the “take control of character” setting. It should be “Shift + C.” If it isn’t, that was my problem. I set it to “Shift + C” and then I was able to enter the aircraft. Hope that helps.

The issue reported here is not related to a missing binding.
The issue is that if you click using the mouse on the box highlighted in red below, nothing happens (even if the binding is correct). If you click on the other 2 Toggle functions, they work as expected.

The mouse right click is required to get the cursor to display.

The issue reported here is not with clicking on the door.
The issue is that if you click using the mouse on the box highlighted in red below, nothing happens. If you click on the other 2 Toggle functions, they work as expected.

Sorry, my error.
I did not realize that this Topic was for pre-SU3 Beta.

Your screenshot is different.
Your Toggle EFB = NUM DEL
My Toggle EFB = TAB

This is mine. (1.5.7.0 - SU 3 Beta)

On mine, you have to Right Click (or middle click) to
be able to click anything on the screen.
(you have to enter character cursor mode)

Apologize, I should have mentioned that I am also under SU3 but the issue remain the same between the Live version and the SU3.
The difference between your screenshot and mine is because I changed the default toggle assignment for the EFB from “TAB” to “NUM DEL” so that is why it is reflected on that screen. I also have activated the “Toggle visual assists” in the options and it is another difference with your screenshot.

Okay.
Just trying to understand the UI.

I don’t know why your screenshot and mine are different.

  1. The OP screenshot is 1.5.1.0 ("Enter aircraft" button doesn't work if clicked with the mouse - #18 by MSFSRonS)
    Yours is 1.5.7.0
Both show the “Toggle visual assists” shortcut without a key input
    identified.
Both show NUM DEL key for Toggle EFB.

  2. I understand NUM DEL is mapped to Toggle EFB.
    Why is my screenshot different?
I have “Toggle Visual Assistances Display” mapped to Alt + V
    but it doesn’t do anything.
I enabled the option “Piloting and Controls Notification” but
that does not change my screen.
Why does my screen not display the same thing as your & the OPs?

  3. On my screen, I can Right click or middle click to get the cursor to
display. (Character Cursor Mode, I guess).
I can then move the cursor and click the screen.
I can click the airplane door and enter the airplane.
I can click the “Tab Toggle EFB” icon to display the EFB.
I cannot click the “Shift + C Enter aircraft” shortcut icon to enter
    then airplane.

I would suggest that editing the title to:
“Enter aircraft shortcut” doesn’t work if clicked with the mouse.
Since you state that that is the problem.

  4. Why can you click the “NUM DEL Toggle EFB” shortcut icon and I
cannot unless I Right Click ( or middle click) to display the cursor first?

Because OP screenshot has been taken 27 days ago and mine today. Various releases of SU3 happened between those 2 dates.

There is no key input because there is no binding for that option. It may appear or not depending if you have enabled or not that option:

Because you kept the default binding for the EFB that is TAB whereas I changed the binding on my system to NUM DEL

“Toggle Visual Assistances Display” (display various assistance options) is a different option than “Toggle visual assists” (display the preflight pins). Not related to the issue reported in that topic.

Done since it brings more clarity to the issue description

I don’t know, maybe you have a different mouse configuration for the left click ?
Here is my configuration:

Thanks for your reply.

I do not have a Toggle Visual Assists control.
I wonder why?

Here is my Left Click.
Same as yours.

I wonder why there is no cursor on my screen until I right click or middle click the mouse which makes the cursor appear?

I’m using the default “Mouse 2024 Transversal” supplied with FS2024
I have not made any bindings myself.

Here is my mouse right click bindings:

You must enable that option in order to see it on the walkaround screen:

Thank you. That is it.

I enabled “Show Preflight Pins” option and I now have the Visual Assist
shortcut that works and displays the Pins or not.

It’s interesting that now the Pins are displayed in addition to the blue colored areas that were left clickable before in Walk Around.

But what are the Pins for?
Left click one and nothing happens.

I apologize for my keep coming back with questions.
Your replies are appreciated.
