Saw that the new Version 1.23.12.0 (Sim Update 8) was now available. I loaded the MS Store & sure enough the update was available. I went to install but as I downloaded we got a power cut. When I reloaded I get the following:-
I can’t seem to clear this!!! Can anyone please help. I really don’t want to reinstall everything again!

Try this:
Call up the xbox app and log out, then shut it down.
Call up the MS Store and do the same.
Restart PC.
Log into Xbox app, log into MSStore, see if you can click on Get Updates!
Probably some downloading state file got a lock on it.
If you have the packages installed in the default Appdata location, move them out from there. (This is to make sure you do not have to redownload 100 something GB worth of packages.)
Then try repair/reset on the app from Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & features > MSFS > Advanced Options. It might automatically pull and install the latest version so you might not see an update on the store after that. Check anyway.
If that works, put the packages back.
You can also try resetting the Microsoft Store to clear out its caches to see if it fixes the problem.
The plot thickens. I have cured the MSstore error but now MSFS will not load! It says “The App Can’t Open, check the windows store for more info about Microsoft flight Simulator.” 
Sorted & Fixed problem. This is what I did…, (In case anyone finds themselves in a similar position).
ALL NOW OK!!! Phew!
